I read on the imdb that the Character of Captain Lennox already appeared in a Transformers VS. G.I. Joe Comic. Anybody knows in which Issue he is in?

Colonel Sharp(e) on the other hand... There's a rumor that Captain Brad J Armbruster is stenciled on one of the Raptors in Bay's Transformers.

Okay everyone, the movie has been made and released.
Over the past year I have been in a race against production. Some of you know that I had made it my personal mission to be sure that Hollywood would hear and know exactly what the fans wanted from this movie. As you can see, when I arrived I was initially greeted warmly. I had a perspective that most board members did not. I was following the production of the film with great interest. My plan was to drop information as it became available and to have fans post reactions and see what the climate was really like in regards to the film and how it might play out. As I've said a dozen times, I'm also a Transformers fan and followed the production of that film with the same interest. I was devastated to learn that Hollywood's view of the TF mythos was wildly different than the accepted view and that many of the aspects of production that fans took for granted were the very ones we should have been loud about. For example, many of us were complaining about which character belonged where while the characters we argued over weren't even in the running for the movie. Also, lots of people were up in arms over Prime being decoed with flames while the other characters were being reinvented to the point where they were unrecognizable. (I.E. Megatron as a blender). The big problem with that production is that we as fans didn't even know whaere to concentrate our efforts until it was pretty much too late. Megatron's head design was altered at the last minute and a few other things were tweaked in response to fan outcry, but by and large the damage was already done. Worse, the director was openly stating that he didn't really CARE what had come before and that he was gonna do what he thought looked cool. GI Joe was supposed to be different. Going in, I knew what to look for and what to worry about. I knew that CC's mask was going to be a skull-thing. I chose to make that the first focal-point of my attempt to get the fans involved. So when an early Viper-Mask showed up, I jumped on it. What followed was the best example of the worst of the internet that I can think of. Many fans were inspired by my somewhat sensationalist approach. They understood that my statements were important, regardelss of total accuracy and that there was NO harm in sharing opinions. Then weird things started to happen. Some people started shouting me down for being a "hater". This surprised me greatly because I was ALWAYS excited about this movie and I always wanted to see it succeed. Some other fans who seemed to feel that only THEY really "got" Gi Joe and understood what was going to happen started detracting from my opinions and statements. In particular, one individual with a jowlly avatar mentioned that no one really knew WHAT CC's new mask would look like and spoke of me like I was a time-wasting fool who had no idea what I was talking about. I understood the desire to quell panic, but I can't for the life of me figure out why he would want opinions to be stifled. Another thing that boggled my mind was the apparent lack of willingness by many people to allow any discussion that suggested that some of the people in charge at Hasbro or Paramount may not have a firm grip on what made GI Joe in the first place. Again, being shouted down, stifled or derided for expressing opinions and encouraging others to do the same. Some of what I posted was because I had unique insights or I DID have the facts and I couldn't simply come out and say so. I tried guiding some discussions and hinting that things weren't what they seemed. Not only did many people not want to listen, they wanted to silence me. By the time my threads started getting deleted (rather than just closed or filled with warnings) I was done. I am going to make a generalization and I hope that it will be taken in the proper spirit. Many fandoms attract a certain type of individual. No fandom attracts ALL of any one kind, but if you look, you'll notice that Star Trek fans tend to have fairly liberal or moderate views. Star Wars fans tend to obsess over storytelling and minutiae. It's usually representative of the public view of the line's prevailing subject matter. Joe fans tend to be very loyal. Thing is, that loyalty is often based on a singular perspective. Thus, it's easy to stand by a convicition without moving and see it to the bitter end rather than opening your mind a bit and seeing another perspective. When dealing with something going from comics/cartoons to film, there is always going to be a lot of compromise. If you don't compromise, you turn it into a win or lose scenario. The odds then mount against you. Stephen Sommers has stated that (unlike Michael Bay) he has tremendous respect for the mythology he's working with and that he IS interested in appealling to fans and newcomers. This is a blessing. He is willing to hear what we have to say... IF WE CAN APPROACH HIM WITH A CIVIL TONE. Keyboard courage not withstanding, we don't HAVE to be dicks about things. Using the words, "shit, crap" or "turd" to describe things we are dissatisfied with is self-sabotage. When I see someone post "X is going to be a giant turd" I don't get amused. I'm not impressed and I tend to think that if that's the best the person can do, they are probably A- not very clever. B- not very literate. C- not thinking very hard about what they're talking about. Now, I'm not here to make people feel bad or point fingers. The damage, or rather lack of damage control, is done. CC is an Octopus. At least for now. Now we have a clean slate. We can begin discussion or debate regarding the new film with the knowledge of what the style and tone are going to be and we can work WITHIN that framework to tell the director and producers what we think works and what doesn't. Having Larry Hama on the set is great, and having him look over the script was helpful. Larry's JUST one man though. What to him is "essential" doesn't necessarily have to do with aesthetic choices. No one can look at the problems with the movie and then point at him. I call upon you all to look at this next film as an opportunity. We CAN make an impact. I'm not blowing smoke and I'm not being unrealistic. In order for us to be effective though, we have to be willing to compromise and we have to take care to be a bit more civil. It's not hard to NOT say nasty things. Just express your opinions the way you'd want to hear them. No one HAS to listen to us, but if we gild our words with honey, or just plain talk, we're more likely to be listened to. Flies like shit. We're not talking to flies. If we can all be a bit more respectful of each other's opinions and ideas, we are FAAAAAAR more likely to be taken seriously and heard. What do ya say?

Thank you Mods for again hamstringing me by wiping out the impact of my long, thought-out post.

'Omegawrath' the wisest of the wise.
Everything you typed in this thread is exactly how I feel. We as fans have blown our chance at making a difference, or on being heard by the powers that be. Damn shame. I wish a lot of Joe fans would take notice on more effective ways to communicate. By the way, I'm still waiting for that review..
