2009 Playmates Terminator Salvation 3.75" Barnes. Avacslab has a cast. I used it for my T13 Stalker for many years before deciding to go younger with him (plus cap was not US military issue--revolutionaries cap is what i think Coby called it).

Is there something wrong with my paint prep? This is my process.
-Disassemble -soak it warm water foaming from dish soap for about 5min. -scrub parts with used soft rated toothbrush until I feel tired or it seems like the parts have had enough scrubbing. -pat dry with microfiber towel -place in plastic container with silica gel and let dry over night (approx 6hrsl. -after drying soak in 91% isopropyl alcohol for 1hr. -after removing from alcohol bath, let air dry for 5-10 min. -apply primer. The reason I ask is that I have never had issues with my primer sticking (vallejo, stynylrez, GW, armypainter), but all of a sudden I'm finding that the paint and primer can just rub off around the biceps and shins. I added the alcohol step to help with this, but no luck. Do I have to sand everything now? |

You definitely have a much more thorough prep process than I do, I just disassemble, then give it a good toothbrush scrubbing with some warm water, let it dry, then get to priming.
I would say that the issue is probably a change in the plastic as opposed to your process needing an adjustment. The upper arms and lower legs are usually made of a softer plastic, and I have also noticed that they don't hold paint very well. Sanding for those parts might become a necessity. Quote:

Would that be some thing like, doing like one or two coats of pledge future so that it has a nice solid coat. and then matting with several coats of matte varnish so that it's not so glossy?
