Nope...I would not pay for workout videos. Diet plays a more important part than the exercise from my experience. You can exercise all you want but without the proper nutrition you will get no where.
I lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks (won a contest a work) by just exercise and diet. My weight was 233 fully clothed and now I am around 207 in my underwear...My goal is under 200 which is good basketball weight (I am 6'2). My dream would be soccer playing weight of 180 A sample routine Morning Light Cardio (As many jumping jacks you can do) Breakfast (Muesli with fat free milk, orange juice) Snack before lunch (All natural Fruit/vegetable smoothie - no added sugar) Afternoon Lunch - Rice, vegetables, lean protein (Tuna or CHicken) Afternoon Snack - Protein Shake Evening Light cardio (Same as morning) Dinner - Rice or Pasta, vegetables or Salad, proten (Chicken, Seafood, Beef) Workout - Protein Shake Light cardio - same before bed Does anybody have a better plan or can make improvements I would like to know...at some point I would need to do a PX90 or Insanity routine but I think you need to be in good shape before you start those. DO the simple stuff to start out and lose all the fat and then you can push yourself |

I used P90x. Not speaking from experience but you can get the entire set of videos for free online. It worked great while I did it but I have tendency to get in 'good enough' shape for me and then quit until I put on a few extra pounds again. It is a good workout but I don't think its better than any other. I think you'd have just as much luck running, pushups, crunches or any other workout so long as you push yourself.

My girlfriend is using it right now, not sure if it's really working since she just started but it does push her limits. The guy doing the vid is kind of a douche.

been on a workout kick too latley just been using my Isometric for cardio and doing a ton of crunches and lifting freeweights at home
Diet is key i have not been eating much breads and get my carbs through low fat pastas eat alot of turkey/chicken/Tuna btw Tuna per serving has more protein per serving than Chicken or Turkey and protein helps rebuild muscle Super Foods!!!!! also i substitute Ground Turkey for Hamburber for Tacos/Pastas i also find switching up your work out routine works so your body does not get into a slump

Sounds like you have a pretty good routine. I think the P90X is mainly for those that need to loose weight in a shorter amount of time. Then once the weight is gone the person would have to pick up your routine to keep it off. You routine sounds more like maintenance.
You can always eat only Tuna and Apples and exercise 8 hours a day to get the Christian Bale Machinist look

One of the colegues at work is about 2 weeks into Insanity and said it seems to be working. He is feeling more energetic and feels great. Said it is quite a workout.

u need to follow the diet plan they have in order to get the results you see in the commercial.
every work out is different, and you can't just jump into advanced work outs. a diet plan is also key

P90X is very popular with some co-workers and achieving great results. It does a great job of avoiding muscle memory and challenging your body to develop. Like any effective workout you really have to be disciplined and consistent or don't expect much.
I'm happy with what I'm doing on my own (work has it's own gym) but have beem tempted to try it and probably will at some point. |
