We have made it past the 25th year mark(actualy 25th year was in 07) but what would we call new figures made in that are made simular to those from the 80's? to be honest we should be nearing the 30th figures in about 2 1/2 years. So what should we call our new figures?

Classics? Seems relatively simplistic and easy. DCUC Classics, MOTU Classics, Transformers Classics, Why not joes classics?

30th anniversary?
I like the idea of calling it G.I.Joe Classics.

If I ruled BroJob I'd do it like this:
Card art/style would go back to 25th with explosion back/silver border. Case assortments would be balanced between movie continuity characters and old school/Resolute characters. Movie stuff would get the movie GIJOE logo and the post office symbol in the corner where "25th" went. Resolute stuff would get the Resolute logo. Old school stuff would get classic GIJOE logo. Completists would feel compelled to get every wave, plus old schoolers would dig the old school card art even if it were movie characters. Here's an example of what a case assortment would look like. 1 of each: ROC Scarlett (Paris Pursuit) ROC James McCullen ROC MARS Tech Classic Airtight Classic Footloose Classic Frag Viper Resolute Roadblock Resolute Storm Shadow

Just call it G.I. Joe. No "Resolute", no "Anniversary", no "legends", no "whatever theme".

"The rise of the classic revenge of the modern era resolute anniversary exclusive cartoon edition"
Seriously, they could take a cue from SW and run simultanious New and classics lines. Joe might not move as much merchandise as SW does, but if it were split, a wave that wasn't selling well wouldn't hold up the whole run. Last edited by chief_1; 10-17-2009 at 01:09 PM.. |
