Their primary function is to infiltrate enemy territory and train the local population in the art of guerrilla warfare. This way the locals can do most of the fighting instead of having to send in Americans. Green berets have to master the local language dialects and customs while on location. They never wear uniforms in the field, they will either disguise themselves as locals or wear civilian clothing. |

Went out today looking for the WM exclusives. Didn't find any more (I still need Gung-Ho and Copperhead and one more Shockwave/Night Creeper). Instead found an old, beat up Armadillo & Air Chariot set on sorta-clearance for $15. 2 figs and 2 vehicles for the same price as one exclusive 2-pack, and $2 cheaper than the ROC Armadillo with one fig. Made me happy.

But when I designed the Ranger class for the game, I wasn't talking 1rst Army Rangers Mountain Division, 25th battalion, or 82nd airborne Rangers. I was talking Ranger as in what type of soldier; Rangers have existed since pre world war one, nearly every country with a strong military has Rangers, and Marines and Infantry. I hope that makes sense. Believe me I'm not dissing the Seals, Far from it.
And we do have seals here. In the south. But Greenpeace protects them I thought so. I had the same idea. Bought a RoC Zartan and fixed the issues it has (elbows, hands). I give it an extra twist by doing a removable mask, but i dunno if doing it like shockwave's mask, or doing a ballistic mask.

That's Awesome! When I added the Ranger Class, I didn't really have a set image in mind, just the function. It's totally up to you and the the rest of the Joe team to decide what they look like and who they are. I gave Cobra the option of having them be Vipers which I think are pretty badass. When you asked what is the typical Ranger, I was just sharing what I tend to envision as a Ranger. Seals fit the bill perfectly if that's what your going for. |

Night-vipers as commandos Quote:
Every banner has a specific set of color pattern and gear. That's why i've avoided camo, to keep it for Rangers. Also, i don't want them with helmets, since the soldier already have one, and each class has a diferent headgear. So the Muskrat-like hat suits them. Alternatively, the beret.
