Calling all glue experts.
I've cut my clear panels to surround the control room. I've glued up, with pvc, right angles to act as corner supports and to hide the edges of the clear panels. I tested with super glue on scrap and got fogging as expected. I read online that some modelers use regular white glue with good results. I tried and it really isn't working out. I tried vinyl fence glue, as I had it and enjoy working with pvc fence scraps, but... I may have to cut new clear panels and corners. So, what do I use for glue? Hot glue, consruction adhesive, automotive black Goop gasket stuff...? Please help. This is now stalling progress. |

It sounds lame but if you blow on the glue and give it a few seconds before you stick the parts together it dosnt fog. I use the blue tube Lepage super glue. Or you can put the on a strip of cardboard then onto the plastic and it won't fog. The cardboard absorbs the acetone. Just try it on some scrap first. If the parts fit tightly enough in place model glue might work well enough. White glue is crap and is also very messy. You could also try PVC pipe glue, this will give you a super strong bond but I'm not sure about fogging.

I use the pvc glue for the pvc stuff. I'll try it on some clear tonight. Haven't had good luck with the model glue on the pvc.
I'll report back. Thanks, |

Yeah I don't think model glue will work. Try the Lepage super glue in the blue bottle.

Thanks Blood.
Here are the test glue ups. Clear to clear and pvc to clear using pvc cement for plumbing. Both are solidly fused ans crystal clear except for some air bubbles, which most likely could have been worked out while gluing. Also, no, I repeat, NO fogging. I should have used this as it is my go to glue, but I let the interwebs sway me. |

Looking at the control room, I'm thinking the lower control area will need a similar styled clear panels only shorter, like 1 inch, with no roof structure.
I guess this is how things snowball. Started with a simple cut base as a second layer. Now I'm making control rooms, helipads, cranes, ladders, and diving platforms. |

I really like how you made that diving platform out of the helipad, a nice touch! Also, the ladder solution was quite clever.
