So, I picked up the decal maker to do some low res decals for some of my figs but the dang thang is flawed. The software that comes with it is in minidisk form, and my laptop doesn't have a pop open tray for it. I contacted the company and they basically just told me to return it but the problem I have is this thing sat the shelf for awhile and don't have a receipt. Apparently, I'm the only that has come across this problem so they don't have a download available as an alternative.
My question is, do I really need it? I've got CS5 running on this computer and it just seems like it would be superior to anything this cheap disk could do. The only thing I'm concerned about is the paper type setting in the printer setup. |

Do you have a friend who has the hardware to load it and convert it onto a regular sized disk for you? If the program is old enough it shouldn't be too big of an issue to do it. Then you could mess around with both programs and find out if it is worth further time or not?

The software is pretty useless. It is just a sampler to get you to buy their full program. You can use photoshop and just set the page parameters to the right size.

I was disappointed when I bought the same kit and discovered the same thing - only a trial. I pretty much use power point and only put my decals I want on the left side.

I found Illustrator works just fine. Now I just have to deal with the fact my printer is crappy.

The only thing I'm concerned about is the paper type setting in the printer setup. I use Adobe Illustrator and print on the decal paper using high quality and premium glossy photo paper in the print settings. They come out crispy. Those settings work great on vinyl and sticker paper as well. |

CS5 should work fine for making decals.
I just used CS6 and long before that MS Paint.

A good way to get started is to just type out a few questions on your computer. What do you want to know about the people who visit your site? What problems can you solve for them? How will they benefit from using your app or product?
