So i have been collecting the Mcfarlane Walking Dead 5 inch figures. But i wanted to make some survivors not based on any specific characters. So i was wondering. Does anyone know any other lines that the heads would work Mcfarlane Walking Dead figures?
Halo? Gears of War? Or any other toy line? I don't want to have to paint them, so it will be a straight head swap, a bit of dremeling is fine. Thanks for any help in advance.

Sorry, I've been wracking my brain trying to think of another figure line that's in that scale and I can't. The closest might be some Marvel or DC figures from the early 2000's but unless you are doing comic versions of the figures the head sculpts might look too cartoon-ish and even then good luck finding characters without some goofy mask. EBay might be your best shot at finding figures by putting in a 5" search, maybe you'll get lucky?
This is something that always gets on my nerves is how companies are all over the place with scales, McFarlane usually make their product in the larger scale so why make the Walking Dead smaller? There has to be a good reason for it but I have no idea what it is.

Thanks, i have found Doctor Who figures are 5", but their heads need quite a bit of dremeling to fit as they are not ball jointed, but swivel.

They also have a 3.75" scale line of Doctor Who figures.
Same swivel neck though. Would some of the smaller headed characters from the 6" lines like Game of Thrones or Marvel Legends etc. work? What about the Playmates Star Trek line? Mostly all human heads. Last edited by Empire; 10-27-2014 at 10:02 AM.. |

I tried a head from DC Movie Masters Batman Dark Knight Harvey Dent head, i thought they were 5 inch, but the head was too large compared to the Walking Dead figures.
Marvel Legends are too large. 4" Joes, Star Wars or any same size is too small. I was looking at the Halo Reach unmasked figures, but its not worth spending the money unless i know they work.

You may be able to scavenge a couple of heads from the old Toy Biz Marvel lines. There was an unmasked Tony Stark and a couple other human heads in the 5 inch scale.

McFarlane's Assassin's Creed figures are the same size, those heads should work pretty much perfectly with the Walking Dead figures.

From the ones i have seen on Ebay made by Mcfarlane, they are 6 or 7 inch scale.

I wish MacFarlane toys had made the figures in a 6 inch scale, just so I could have the Meryl headsculpt be Yondu on a Guardians of the Galaxy Starlord figure. That Michael Rooker likeness is very well done. |
