Thought this might be of interest for those of you who like to light up their vehicles...
Modeling Leaves the Dark Ages by Chris Wessling — Kickstarter They are primarily using Warhammer 40K armies to show off what their product can do but there is no reason why it couldn't be used for Joe vehicles... At least none hat I can think of.

Thanks r3v3n63 and Dragasses =)
I totally agree. The kit was designed to be modular and simple to use. Essentially all you need to do is: -Pick the color(s) you want to use -Drill the holes (if necessary) -Route the wires -Do some touch up And you're good to go. Here's a video from our youtube channel demonstrating how simple the kit is to use and how simple it can be to install. We envision the kit having a wide range of applications and only started with Warhammer 40k because that's what I play with my 6 year old son. Let me know if I can answer any questions. Oh...and here's a link to the Kickstarter =) Thanks for your interest and support. |

Good lord, $30 donation required to get the kit? Cool product, but I think that may be a bit overpriced for me.

Really cool idea. I add lights now to vehicles but this kit would make it much easier.

Outside of the kits that (I think) Fireflyed was doing/is doing I haven't run across anything like this yet. As a result I have no idea if the kits are expensive or reasonable since I have nothing to put it in perspective. But, if it's as easy to use as the vids show then that might make it worth it. On top of that, if the kickstarter hits it's goal they promise other new innovations that could add a ton of extra options in the future. Not just lights but I think smoke had been mentioned as well. Could add a whole new element to vehicle customizing.
Welcome to the 'Tank Chris, hope you stick around and participate. If you are up to the challenge you could always pick up a Joe vehicle and give it makeover to show everyone what your kit could do to a stock toy?

I like this - always wanted to add lighting effects to various models / Joe vehicles, but the process always seemed daunting to me. I hope in the near future they offer various boards that support additional lighting effects, like strobe patterns & such.

I just backed this for the $100 level - 15 light strings and 4 PC boards if it gets the required funding. This looks awesome, I really want to customize vehicles with lights, but from what I have seen I would not be good at doing the lights from beginning to end. This seems pretty user friendly.
