Im thinking about building a 1:18 scale APC from aliens. I cant fine any info on the size of the Real APC. If anybody knows please let me know, and if you want to convert it to 1/:18 that would be big help. Thank you.

Good luck, I have been waiting for someone to do this. I'm thinking of building a 1/6 scale one for my HT Colonial Marines. One thing to keep in mind though most of the time in Hollywood the vehicle used for driving is different than what is used for the interior shots. From what I remember the driving model was built on a airport fire truck. (wide flat ones) and I think the interior shots were sound stage. I tried finding plans and scales etc but wasn't having any luck. So I just estimated from looking at characters in film and judging that way. The wheels where about the height of the actors so I went with 12inch wheels. (I am currently working on project and buying the wheels is as far as I've gotten.) As I was watching the film I realized there was not any area for the wheel axles as they would be cutting through the middle of the compartment and there was no room for the engine (unless it's in the back behind Hudson when he is doing his speech in extended version) None of this will probably help but just my observations(which could be wrong)

you wouldnt need axles if each wheel contained its own engine inside the hub. its been done on real vehicles so it's totally plausible.

You could use that iron man mobile lab as a base. That looks somewhat like the APC.

I was going to use the gijoe rhino but I want to try and build it from styrene. If it comes out good I want to make one for the Neca figures next. Ive seen a 1/6 one before and it was HUGE!

As for the Iron Man vehicle; I picked it up in hopes of making a troop transport for Cobra like the ones you see in Renegades but there is no room in that thing at all. Some major overhauling would be needed to make it troop worthy. A shame since I like the design quite a bit.

Wow, that thing is massive. It's a thing of beauty, wish it existed in retail.
