This is my first vehicle custom and since Hisstank has a butt load of talent I figure I would ask advice and recommendations for the project I am undertaking.
So I want to turn a Mamba into something that resembles a War hammer 40k Valkyrie. Ive included pics of what I have and what the inspiration is. Any advice would be welcome, Im looking for paint suggestions as well as Styrene or sculpting ideas. Ive never used styrene but this seems like a project for it. Thanks Tankers |

You know, I never noticed the resemblance before. Good eye!
For the wings, are you going to make the landing struts on the tips of the tips, have the wings support the ships weight? If so I would suggest something called Hard Board or masonite. I'ts the stuff you see clipboards made out of. It's pretty strong and should be able to withstand some punishment and once it has plastruct / styrene laminated over the top that should toughen it up even more. You could use the Anaken pod racer for the engines on top. Bondo could come in handy for this project as well. For the canopy you could check out RC helicopter or plane parts, there might be a piece that resembles that cockpit. Is that the king of help you were looking for?

You could use an Imperial Shuttle for the wings, and the turbines.

freakintiger has his own thread here talking about building in styrene, might help out?
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...cs-beyond.html Thats a good idea as well, If I can find a cheap one I may pick it up. I've also been thinking about using PVC pipe and sculpting details on, not sure if Im skilled enough yet to do that though |
