Here is two versions of Mainframe that I made a while back. I showed this figure in the Zombie vs Joe tabletop game I created and it was asked if I could show more pictures of him. (Link to tabletop game, check it out and leave some feedback if you haven’t - http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ml#post5244835
The first one pictured is from modern Joe parts and the second is my Marauder version. The Marauder version is painted gray because it was made before Marauder released the gray parts. Parts: Modern version Helmet: cast Head: Star Wars figure (let me know if you know the name) Torso and arms: Duke (I think) Legs: DATD Flint Marauder version

They're both excellent. As a purist, I especially dig the ME parts version, it's probably the best take I've seen on Mainframe yet. Nicely done.

I like both but prefer the one that uses the modern era parts.
I like those arms and torso a lot so that’s likely why. Very nice job!

Both figures are nice! I am leaning towards the MTF one a little, but the ME one gets points for the arms (I hope Marauder gives us similar arms at some point). So far as the head, I don’t recognize it, but it is a cool looking head. Was it a pilot or a trooper of some sort? Or are you unsure of its origin? I know you didn’t know the name, but thought maybe you had some idea of the source... Anyway, nice work, bro!

Thanks guys!
Like many of you, I too prefer the modern version look for this figure. The short sleeves just work for this guy. I really can’t believe Marauders hasn’t made military style short rolled sleeved at this point. I hope the upcoming Vietnam project fixes that. I think now that it’s on my mind, I may attempt another modern version to see where my skills have improved. I will definitely get the decals on this guy first off, I have them and not sure why I haven’t fixed that yet. The Star Wars figure was a civilian looking guy wearing a robe type thing. I always thought of him as a cousin to Uncle Owen, haha. I remember him being a fully articulated figure, not like some of the new stuff we seen. Is there a Star Wars figure database to look through?
