Thanks, OverlordCorp! I genuinely think that black and red is the best color combination for bad-ass figures. And Flash is my favorite OG Joe, so I wanted to do right by him.
Simple kitbash is next. Just a small bit of paint on the neckerchief for authenticity. It has always struck me that Storm Rider appears to be a more sophisticated Dreadnok. He seems rather dapper almost. Anyway, the only bits of interest on this guy are the K9 goggles. I like them on this guy. The small pop of red is understated but nice. Lastly, I wanted Storm Rider to have a power tool like the original three Dreadnoks, so I gave him a power auger to wreak havoc on unsuspecting Joes or nearby vehicles. STORM RIDER (V1): 2010

You already know this, but your Storm Rider looks 1000 times better than the Hasbro version because yours doesn't have the ridiculous mid-torso articulation point.
Fantastic. |

Just doing a little house cleaning. Posting a couple figures who have been tweaked slightly or who just have not had proper photoshoots. Bear with me, I have a new light box and it is maddeningly frustrating to get pics to come out the way I want.
As you were. Go check out Steel Brigade?s thread, he has a much more interesting drop. First is Sightline. I like the Joe Declassified version much better than the 50th Anniversary version. The update for this guy is that I have done away with the previous Armor Chest Piece and moved to the much-more-appropriate Plate Vest. Little dab of silver on the front, bobs-your-uncle. I also sliced off much of the Riot Helmet visor in an effort to make it look like the vintage visors. SIGHTLINE: Joe Declassified Give-Away Next is the Cobra Moray. In my universe, the Moray is Cobra?s Navy SEAL. The original build for this guy used cast-off parts and was half Contract-Ops and half Agency-Ops. This go-around, I used an old Cobra Trooper helmet and sliced off the bottom rim to make it look more like a modern ACH helmet and less like a Fritz helmet. I changed the torso from a black Agency-Ops torso to a Trooper-style torso to make him look a little more buttoned down. Likewise changed to legs from Contract-Ops legs to Cloth Trooper legs. COBRA MORAY: LAND-BASED GEAR Next is the Cobra Viper. He never really had a proper photoshoot. Not much new here. Just added some red to the 86 vest and changed around some pouches. Easy breezy. COBRA VIPER (V1): 1986 Last is the Cobra Officer. This guy is far and away the kitbash with the most iterations. I must be going on the 6th or 7th version of this guy. What you see here is a thoroughly stripped-down version of the Officer. I am using the T-Shirt torso in order to have a smooth chest area to place a Cobra sigil. Of course that means that he now has the wide scoop collar. That was okay for a while, but I grew to not like it so much. Too Sunbow. (I opted to keep the red mask, however). So I got AVACS sweater collar piece cast in blue and added that. I also got tired of trying to make the web gear LOOK like the original Officers web gear, so I just opted to use the real thing. Same with the helmet. COBRA OFFICER (V1): 1982

Thanks, gentlemen!
Steel Brigade just dropped a really cool set of MTF kitbashes. One of them was a representation of Capt. Grid-Iron. I posted my version of Capt. Grid-Iron way back on page 6 of this thread (December of 2019). He was cool for a while and I have since revisited my guy a couple times in the past four years to try to update him, but with little success. Since SB posted his version, it has spurred me to revisit Grid-Iron again. Back in 2019, I bought some little football casts that were pulled from the modern Red Dog. They were cast in black and I have always been less than enthusiastic about them. I decided to paint one of the casts to use as a real football. It just so happens that the slit in the back of the football fits nicely over an MTF grenade loop. I put the loop on Grid-Iron’s leg in order to secure the football. Why? I have no idea. I also wanted to differentiate my Grid-Iron version from SB’s version, so I put a colored stripe on his helmet and put a small bit of black painted acetate inside the viewport of the helmet. This is just a WIP. Further tweaks incoming. CAPT. GRID-IRON (V1): 1990

That’s some killer builds there my dude. Marauder should use some of these to promote their parts.
