Newest Toys For You has posted all new images of the Arctic Threat Storm Shadow figure from the G.I. Joe Rise Of Cobra toyline. As an homage to the vintage V2 Storm Shadow from 1988, this figure features familiar camouflage, as well as reused parts from previous Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes figures.
Does this figure sport a Cobra logo because of Storm Shadow’s affiliation in the movie, or could it be an homage to the original paint deco planned for the V2 Storm Shadow? Originally, the V2 Storm Shadow figure was meant to have Cobra logos printed on. Also, could a variant be planned, with lighter gray markings and red bandolier to match the package art?

CrimsonGuard101 says
I really dislike that camo on him, look at his face?? Its a big black upside down "V"...What was wrong with the original? Wouldn't mind to see him in an analog of his current maybe, like black with white "V"s...pass on this one...

I think it looks awesome, I wasn't expecting an homage like that, and the V2 is one of my favorite designs.
Gyre-Viper says
he looks like he fell asleep and snake eyes drew all over him with
a sharpie.

looks like he tripped and fell in art deco

it could work... if they (hasbro) did a proper redeco like the time when Stormy joined GI Joe. more camo pattern like.

I agree with Shin. It is a verry cool fig.

that is just awful.....a blatant repaint (grey on the current SS figure) that is just bad. it looks so awkward and forced. almost like it is a really bad custom.
what made the relative storm shadow so cool in the 80s was that it was a totally different sculpt with all new weapons and a new allegiance....and one that no one expected at the time.
this is like..."hey, you like the trench coat, sneaker wearing stormy? look! here he is with some Vs painted on him like that one figure. but this time his weapons aren't red, they're the same ones that the regular storm shadow comes with....in fact, this is the exact same figure, it just has some random grey Vs painted all over it."
