Would those epic figures sell better if they released characters that have not had a tvc figure yet but with the detail of the epic figures? Maybe just have "popular" figures released under TVC.

They do. It?s called the Epic series. Same line that the current Marvel 4? is under, even though it lacks the same articulation. About $10 a fig, but they suck.
5POA appealing to kids is a fucking myth. It?s selling trash to adults who don?t know better. Nothing dulls my son?s interest like a figure he can?t play with because it?s basically a statue. They need to drop the price of TVC so it?s viable-at least on repacks and evergreen characters. I was thinking about this while sorting through my accumulated years of buying toys, and I think Hasbro got it right with the Epic Marvel figures. I mean, as far playability and durability for kiddos, they're pretty awesome. They have just the right amount of articulation for getting them into vehicles & karate kicks, can grip their weapons tightly, and they don't look like cheap shit. My son got me the GOTG figures for xmas, and I dig 'em plenty. So much more fun than the fiddly, gangly, janky & frustrating MU shit. They're priced alright too, considering. All the Star wars team had to do was copy the Marvel team...if they had, I'd maybe buy Star Wars figures again.

I think/seems like 5-ish POA really only appeals to young kids when they're at least 6" and above. And there it's more about giving a really young child something they can easily manipulate as they zoom it around the living room & make it fight stuff.

Even the ST era 5POA had some really nice sculpt work. This new line looks like shit.

I agree that the Marvel Epic is a fantastic kid's line. I assume the Star Wars licensing fee must be absurd for them to not be able to mimic the fairly basic but vastly superior than 5POA articulation they have.

Be nice if they had line synergy in that regard.

there's just a little better sculpting on the epic line. look at them like the 5poa lines from episode 6-9, rogue one, and solo; but without the poses.
probably closer to the tube figure line that hasbro tried selling in terms of sculpt detail. are they worth 10 bucks? no. but neither was any of the figures above. are they something that i'd rather my kid have than a tvc figure? absolutely. every single one of his misson fleet figures' heads and hands are gone. |

I said i heard 29.99 on the phone, and i guess w manager heard me and said do 29.99 and the 10 is taken off for waiting for it. Im pretty pumped about this. It's complete. Move his arms up and down and his mouth opens. Just figured out it's black series. He seems like the right size for 3.75" Last edited by THEDARKONE508; 03-29-2024 at 05:20 PM.. |
