Where does he stand in your collection? Does anyone actually collect him? Exist in your joe verse?

Personally not sure how they got away with that. Almost a rip off captain power or whoever came first.

i think...
captain power is another cell of the human resistance in terminator; just with better gear to fight skynet back and one of skynet's localized generals. think about it for 5 minutes. skynet was everywhere. of course there were different groups of people fighting back. not everyone with the same intel. not everyone with the same means to fight; and if we're going by 84 terminator - not as well organized as they were in salvation or genesys to say "hey, we have some pretty awesome armor we just kind of materialize and then fight these robots." and then still not have the means to reproduce an army of said armor. i loved the show as a kid, and when i figured that out as an adult i like it even more. i dont have MY captain power figure, but i have another and a couple more of his team (who i never remember their names) with that power changer playset thing proudly displayed on my "stuff i had as a kid" shelf in my cave. |

Mattel is infuriating at 18th-scale because their 18th figures are god-awful trash; but the vehicles and playsets are amongst some of the finest 18th products ever made. The PowerBase is *easily* as good a playset as ye olde Death Star and Joe HeadQuarters, and almost as good the TerrorDrome and Defiant Launch Complex.

I don't have a connected "universe" for this stuff, so Captain Power is its own thing, even though I almost never think about it these days. For the brief year or so I played with them as s a kid though, they were part of my Star Wars fantasies. It was the last toyline I got into before "outgrowing" toys, and occupies a special spot in my nostalgia as a result. I re-collected a bunch of the toys a decade ago, including cool rare stuff like the Arco playsets and that goofy walking thing, but then sold them off later. I've always wanted to make ME customs of the stuff, and even bought a MU Darkhawk (I think that's its name) to use the wings for a Soaron custom. I was also planning on using the Club Conquest/Vector for a Powerjet stand-in and the RoC Night Raven for the Phantom Striker, but those plans are probably never gonna come to fruition. It's one of those things where I just have other shit I have to or would rather concentrate on. The older I get, the less time I have for such shit.

Captain Power's never been part of my Joe-verse though if I had a Phantom Striker I would definitely use it as an Iron Grenadier or Cobra fighter.
