I have the email that it was funded but that my card had been declined.
I got an email a week later telling me that my card had been billed and I needed to complete the Backerkit survey. But now Backerkit shows no history of payment. I have had a series of emails back and forth from MGR and myself. They have been less than helpful. Then the last email from them said, and I quote directly, "we are not the bank nor the phone company" |

This. Verify it with the credit card company and show MJ the proof.

Yeah, I am positive. I am out $699 over this. And I don't know if it was MJ that answered every one of the emails cuz it just says Marauder GR.
But the last email I received from them clearly stated "We're not the bank or the phone company. You're not in trouble. We understand that minor glitches like this happen, so if you need any help sorting things out, contact us. Thanks for being with us." Every time I contact them, I get the same email as a reply. Both of the other two projects did indeed help and we got those straightened out. But the amount of money for those equaled the amount of this one from MGR. I don't know if Kickstarter, Backerkit or Marauders F'ed up. But you would think that MGR would have a vested interest in finding out where the problem lies. In the case of the other two it was Backerkit. But Backerkit has no Customer Service link or phone number. Shouldn't MGR have a contact they can take this to? Guess they don't want to, so I get screwed. |

Also show him the email you received a week later confirming payment and telling you about the Backerit.

Search "backerkit" in your emails. If you completed your survey on Backerkit, you should have an email that appears to be from Marauder GR (It's actually from a Backerkit email address) with the subject line "Survey Confirmation -- Marauder Task Force WWII 1:18 Scale 4 Inch Action Figures". I got my mine on 4/18/2018 to give you a timeframe. It will show what address you wanted your rewards shipped to at the time, what card you were using and what figures you picked. It says "this email is your receipt" in the email. Even if Backerkit is messed up now, they can't change an email they already sent you.

It wasn't a credit card, it was a debit card from Wells Fargo. I was set up for paperless billing. Wells Fargo sold all of their branches in the surrounding five states to Flagstar. Flagstar does not maintain any Wells Fargo records. When I went on Wells Fargo's website, It would not let me log in. So I called them. I was told that my online account was no longer supported and if I wanted paper copies of my bank records, I would need to appear in person with proper ID at any Wells Fargo branch and I would be helped. The closest Wells Fargo branch is in St. Louis, MO. I live in NE Indiana.

I'm wondering if it's more on your bank's side than MGR's side? This situation just stinks to high heaven. If it's not to much trouble, can you screenshot the "not so pleasant exchange" from MGR and post it here? I'm just curious what exactly led them to make that bank and phone company comment.

I'm using an old chromebook, so I don't know how to do screenshots. But I can tell you that with the other two projects, it was Backerkits fault.
I can also tell you that the bank/phone company comment is the result of a direct request by me for help sorting the money issue out with MGR and a request for any type of contact information for either Backerkit or Kickstarter that MGR might have. They don't want to help, so at this point I am just going to make it my mission in life to make my fellow collectors aware of the situation and advise them to beware of Marauder Gun Runners. |
