I've been wanting a squad of generic 'bank robber' goons for, like, *ever*; and these SkullTroopers are dead perfect for the role. Now I gotta get BBTS to send my Hiya Batman to beat their asses, lol. I traded arm bandannas with Jonesy, Rex, and Raven for some individuality and will gear them up with some MTF hardware for serious ass-kickability once my current order comes in.

One small clarification is that the Visitor's clear blue panels do *not* have foot pegs on them, so they're not proper figure stands.

Hope they continue with more characters. I guess we will see a new wave in September/October if everything goes well. Hope they do some of those Astronaut characters next time.

That event is gonna be super dope! I hope we get some nifty cosmetics, not just limited time weapons. Funny thing is last Friday Ninja actually guessed this will happen. As for Jazwares marvel figures though, I don't think that will or should happen.

What the hell is the story?

What's up with the umbrellas? The axes and such? The throwing panels of stuff into the air and they're suddenly buildings? Just what the hell is going on with this stuff?

I always use umbrellas and axes when I build. Wish I could just toss planks in the air and they automatically build stuff. Haha.

It's just a hodgepodge of elements stolen from other games combined into one with an animated look to appeal to kids. Start out with a goofy melee weapon, find some tactical weaponry randomly, build bases to protect you in a gun fight or just to make cool looking buildings or traps. Umbrellas instead of parachutes to break your fall.

So here's the basics to Fortnite.

It's a Battle Royale game meaning it's a fight to the death between 100 players on a large, complex, detailed, and very fun map.

There are 3 basic modes- solos, duos, and squads
Solos is every man for himself-all 100 players are battling it out
duos is pairs of 2 (you and a friend), so its 50 pairs of 2.
squads is up to 4 players. You can technically have a team of 1,2,3 or 4, but with less than 3 players you're at an obvious disadvantage.
There are many other Limited time modes which are seasonal and change every week or so. Those are just for fun and aren't really important to understanding the game.

So the point of the game is to get the Victory Royal, or in other words be the last man/team standing.

Each game begins with the battle bus flying over the island. At any time before the bus leaves the island, you can jump out of the bus and glide down to any spot of your choice on the (rather large) map. Certain parts of the map have better loot then others, and certain parts attract more players.
You land with only your pickaxe. Your pickaxe can be used to harvest building materials (or "mats" as we call them) or it can be used as a hand to hand weapon, though it deals little damage and is a bit clumsy. You want to pick up the best weapons, healing items, traps, etc. you can. Loot can be found randomly on the ground (though this is often worse kinds) or in treasure chests (the better kinds)

There is a storm that closes in around the island, creating a circle safe zone that grows smaller and smaller, this is to push the players closer to cause interactions among players, so you can't just camp in one spot for the whole game. When you do eventually run into another player, you are obviously gonna fight. This is where building comes into play. The person with the better weapons has an advantage, but the better builder usually wins he fight. Building not only gives you cover, but it can also be used to give you the high ground and be used to trap you enemy. You have to be careful when building, as you will take fall damage if your building is to high up and someone destroys the base of your structure. Another thing that further raises the excitement is since its a Battle Royale, at anytime you can encounter other players, even when you're fighting someone else, leading to large confusing, but exciting build battles, snipes, duels, and other such awesome action.

For those of you asking, Umbrellas are a type of glider. Almost like how you can buy different skins to play as, you can buy different looking gliders. Umbrellas, however can't be simply purchased. They have to be earned, and are thus a status symbol. The only way to get an umbrella is to get the Victory Royal, which is winning the game by being the last guy living. Umbrellas are the trophies for winning, and every ten weeks, or "season", there is a new Umbrella design, thus making the older umbrellas even rarer than before. Umbrellas give no competitive advantage over regular gliders, they're just a status symbol, especially the early ones, as you can't pay to get one, you have to have skill.

This brings up the topic of cosmetics/characters. There are NO real characters in Battle Royale (Save the World is a different story but we'll leave that for another day), except for the Ice King, The Prisoner, The Enforcers, Drift, and the all important Visitor. All the other "characters" are just cosmetic skins that change the way the guy you play as looks, however in loading screens they do do things, but again, don't really have a personality or "character". They grant no competitive advantage, and the only real purpose of them is to look nice/collectibility. You can also get skins for weapons, different backpacks, different gliders, different emotes and dances, different loading screens, lobby music, sprays, and much more to customize your experience, but again the give you no advantage over being a "default", someone who only has the default items.

Most of the "stolen" aspects that were added was only because kids on twitter begged them to add those features, for example the ping markers, vehicles, etc. Even if it's a complete rip off, it does everything so much better than its peers (PUBG, Apex, etc.) that it doesn't even matter. Plus, most people who say it's a ripoff think it's copying PUBG and H1Z1 (both of which are quite bland and really outdated) when they don't realize that both of those are direct rip offs of Minecraft's Survival Games, all the way down to the circle, chests, loot, gameplay, etc. On top of that, Minecraft's Survival Games is based off the Hunger Games, so in the end if Fortnite is a ripoff of anything its the Hunger Games!!!
