Nope. I draw the line at Airwolf and Rip Tide. What's next, Jake and The Fat Man?

Really, really doubt this is going to last to the end before getting taken down. The trademark (that he's applied for, and hasn't yet been granted to him) is just for the Airwolf name and logo, not for the aircraft. He's also been asked about the IP rights on Facebook and got all defensive and nasty with the people asking. Too many red flags.

even if it did last, i'd rather buy the stls to print my own with a non commercial license.
i have joined so many kickstarters in the last few months for 28mm wargaming crap to scale up to 1:18 that added up dont even come near the cost of the diy kit. the only non 3d model kickstarter i was apart of was the scorched earth one and i dont feel like it was fairly priced out (forcing 2 packs on people at start, no incentives/discounts for buying more than that.) |

It depends of the changes he makes to the aircraft. Sometime ago I read that if 40% of the model was different it could be considered something totally different and no license would be required. Now this is easily done in a face sculpt for example, more difficult to do in an actual aircraft I would say. So if he makes such changes he doesn't need a license. But since the license is still pending for the naming and logo there is a big question mark to the all project.
If there was nothing else to collect in the market right now I would probably support it but I will pass on this one, specially after my bad experience with kickstarter campaigns. Eagle Force figure never arrived, got lost somewhere, got a refund but it sucks. And several know about the hellscreamerz one. Only the one about a photo album book went smoothly but I did that more to support the animals in risk of extinction cause.

I have always wondered about scaling up cool STLs to 1/18. How has it been working? Have you worked out the math?
