Out of curiosity, what would you guys recommend as an adhesive for attaching the figure parts into place non-permanently? I don't want to superglue the parts into place permanently, since new parts and variations are always on the agenda, and I want to be able to remove parts and revise a figure once new parts are released. MJ suggested hot glue, but I found that this didn't bond to the plastic at all (and I bought a hot glue gun just to find that out -____- ). I tried nail polish (which is good for non-permanently attaching modular weapon parts and tightening loose part fits), but this didn't have enough "stick" to last very long. I'd like to try something that has enough grip to where the parts won't fall off with play, but isn't so strong as to possibly damage the figure/parts should I attempt to remove the parts later. |

*Should* is what makes me nervous; I'm really paranoid about the possibility of damaging anything or ruining any paint applications. I've seen what superglue *can* do to parts when you try to separate them later, though this does seem to depend on the brand. If someone who's done this can confirm that this is safe for these kinds of parts, and what brand of glue they used (and what type of solvent they used to remove it after-the-fact), then I'm willing to give it a go.

I use loctite gel control superglue (in silver bottle with blue cap and sides) for all my customizing and if you glob it on it makes a white crust everywhere. BUT if you use a little bit it works great. If you see my thread with all my MTF customs - all of them are glued with that glue. BUT note this - the black armored vests on the cobra troopers are all reused vests..they were red with red pouches glued on...I boiled water in microwave and let the vests soak...i carefully pried the parts off...if they were stubborn - back into hot water. I think only one pouch had a ruined peg - but snip it off and still can glue on.

Holy cow, you are on a whole 'nother level from what I'm on. Last edited by MagicWazard; 07-01-2016 at 02:30 PM.. |

Thanks for the kudos...I just used a sharp knife and trimmed the holes and new stuff fit right in.

In case I haven't already said, I'm not really a "customizer", so I don't generally deal with this sort of thing. I'm trying to build up my arsenal and knowledge base for situations like this. Thanks! |

How hard is it to get the shoulders out of the sockets? Thinking about using one of these for a Winter Soldier custom.

Place flat screw driver inside upper torso where you popped the lower out... Gently pry upper torso in to 2 pieces... Arms fall out...
