When is this title getting cancelled? This is the worst GI Joe title so far and the Karen Travis run sucked pretty bad. They've all kind of sucked since after the Cobra Civil War actually but this has taken it to a whole new level. I'm curious, how many people are actually enjoying this run?
I like the way that the Joes are characterised, which has made me actually like them for the first time ever in IDW continuity. For the Costa runs they were so bland and boring that I was actively disinterested and just reading for the sake of seeing the Cobras. I also, in theory, like the idea of making it more cartoon-inspired and "silly". GI Joe needs to be "military-themed superheroes fighting superscience and aliens" in order to work; it just doesn't work as serious military drama. I will admit, though, that this run has some serious problems. I think the biggest problem with it is that it's way too decompressed; what's even happened in 8 issues other than the Joes blowing up a Fatal Fluffy nest and Crystal Ball and the Baroness getting captured and then escaping? Also, it feels kind of meandering, like the Joes are just reacting to a bunch of disconnected events instead of having two sides playing off each other, like v1/2; that, combined with the decompression, makes it a bit of a slog. In short: bring back Paul Allor, since Deviations and the end of vol. 3 give me the confidence that he'd actually do cartoon-inspired Joe right. |

Well, I definitely have to disagree with you there; it's a hell of a lot better than the Traviss run, which was joyless dreck.

Nope! I'm the second fan! I love this title, its zaniness (I need zaniness and fun in my life ), its willingness to try new things, and Aubrey Sitterson is very cool and very approachable. He cares about GI Joe and the fans; knows we're very dedicated.

I liked it at first and thought it had a lot of potential. It's far from as bad as people say it is, but it's also not great.
It's possible to have a balanced opinion on things without either being "a fan" or hating it. |

Believe it or not, I am! I don't want it to replace RAH, but it really is like a smorgasbord from my old toy box! You never know who's going to show up, and it sure is helping me learn my Transformers. (I can't tell half of those guys apart since '87.)

I wouldn't mind if the Hasbro Shared Universe is the main Hasbro universe they draw off of - mainly, I'll admit, because Zarana & Zandar were finally acknowledged as a pair of twins! Which is never going to happen in ARAH... I just hope Hama never contradicts it...

The only thing I like is Skywarp; I dig his hesitancy and somewhat begrudging take on being affiliated with the Joes. Makes me want to add him to my Joe collection. To my knowledge, they still haven't explained why, unless Revolutionaries covered it.

It was a poorly written, poorly executed fight. I wonder if the guy writing has ever even been around a fight ...just horrid. The animal images to show style was bad..just bad. Quickkick quips thru the whole thing..trash...the only spin they could put in this is snakeeyes let him win cause quick kick needs that ego stroke
