As for the Turban wearing figure, he's quite a few waves off, as none of his wave mates are fully complete yet. I will tell you this though, since you are so curious, he is part of S.O.S. Commandos Wave 2. I thank you for your enthusiasm bro! Expect a new wave every few weeks as usual. Here's a break down of where we are on waves for those interested (subject to change... XD ) WAVE 99 491-495 (Themed) April: Complete (this week) WAVE 100 496-500 (500 Figure Mark): Complete WAVE 101 501-505: Complete WAVE 102 506-510 (Themed): 4 figs complete, 1 waiting on head WAVE 103 511-515 (Themed - *S.O.S Commandos Wave 2):1 figure complete/4 in process WAVE 104 516-520 (Themed): 5 figures in process WAVE 105 521-525: 3 figures near complete, 2 TBD WAVE 106 526-530 (Themed): 2 figures complete, 3 in process WAVE 107 531-535 (Themed): 2 figure complete, 2 waiting on heads, 1 TBD ^^ That gives you some idea of where I'm currently at lol ^^ Also, like yourself, I have been doing some slight updates to prior figures, like thin legs on my recent Baroness build & the Confucius "Yin & Yang"sticker to make my Dekotora Truck Gal Saya even more faithful a homage! *Also the updated larger pics are on their original posts. . Haha, I see you were able to snatch up a black Valkyrie body, too. Update looks good.
Hey! What did that monitor ever do to Baroness? (pic #2)

NEW RECRUITS!!!!! - BATTLE FORCE 2000!!!!!
WAVE 99: BATTLE FORCE 2000 491. BLOCKER (based on 1987/88 G.I. Joe Battle Force 2000 "Blocker") G.I. Joe Origin: USA 'NAM 19XX Battle Force 2000 Over the years I've always wanted to complete the Battle Force 2000 roster in my MTF Universe, as unlike the sentiment of most current Joe fans, I loved this sub-team growing up. I started with Dee-Jay (when I concocted a build) & in the years that followed, trickled out Blaster, Maverick, & Dodger for sentimental reasons, being content if those were the only 4 I made... But then the "complete the team" mentality had started to creep in & what was mostly holding me back was the BF2K's unique helmets. Avac's to the rescue as he has a stellar collection of custom helmets for all the members! Blocker was my second favorite (after Blaster) growing up so I started with him, I thought the newer "Stealth-Ops" camo MGR had would work well to imitate the OG's camo & the rest kinda happened from there. He has an unusual chest setup but I think I found the right balance. I always thought Blocker was the leader as a kid, (not sure why, I'm guessing it was his look), but Maverick is actually the highest ranked... I gave him a blade because the Funskool version had one... I had the Blocker version without the visor growing up, as all of our BF2K figs were from the 2-packs at TRU & not the singles, I didn't even know about the singles until a few years back... BIO: BLOCKER was a Boston MA Taxi-Driver for a few years, but after too many robberies, a few back seat births, & a near fatal plunge through a collapsing roadway, he had enough. He enlisted and became a armored vehicle driver for the military, & a volunteer for testing vehicle prototypes. His tenacity at the wheel and "go get him" attitude paved his way for getting into Battle Force 2000, a new sub team ready to support G.I.Joe and field-test experimental equipment under battlefield conditions! 492. AVALANCHE (based on 1987/88 G.I. Joe Battle Force 2000 "Avalanche")
G.I. Joe Origin: USA 'NAM 19XX Battle Force 2000 We had Avalanche growing up (2-pack with Blaster) & he often appeared on those icy missions with the likes of Blizzard during playtime. Still don't know about that space-man helmet but this was a real fun build. This recreation had me thinking I so rarely use the WWII "Fritz" head, (which I feel is a great likeness to the OG here when the helmet is on) & I feel others are maybe the same, as there is a couple heads from the MGR WWII catalog that I use often (like Hank & Logan) & then a bunch of others that I (& I think other builders) rarely use at all. I really do feel I have a faithful representation to the OG here & he actually turned out to be my favorite of this drop! BIO: AVALANCHE passed on his family's illegal hunting business when he came of age & joined the military. Growing up in Maine & often crossing the Canadian borders he was no stranger to cold. This gave him an advantage during survival training & he cleared all the tests a week before any of the other troops in his regime. G.I.Joe thought he may come in handy as a survivalist & put him in charge of that duty in case the BF2K's equipment broke in harsh climates & the team was stranded. He's currently working with TRACKER & BACK BLAST infiltrating the CRIMSON MOON secret labs believed to be hidden in a snowy castle located in Bavaria, Germany. 493. BLASTER (based on the Funskool - "Force 2000" version - India Y2K)
G.I. Joe Origin: USA 'NAM 19XX Battle Force 2000 Blaster is my favorite BF2K member and was often my avatar on my childhood adventures, I couldn't help but want to build one of his alternate versions again for the new BF2K 'Nam Team after building my first take years ago & then my recent "Night Force" addition. He's actually a slightly different build than the other 2 previous builds (all 3 differing from each other), I also think it's awesome that a guy named "Blaster" finally gets some heavy weapons on his re-release in India (2000.) He was actually the first one I *fully* completed for my remaining BF2K team. The Funskool version's unusual "chocolate chip" camo pattern I imitated using stickers from the (not currently offered on site) MGR Exo-Suit sticker sheet, giving him an almost Eddie Van Halen "Frankenstein" Kramer guitar effect. BIO: BLASTER was thought to be a casualty of the "Operation Midnight Mile" Night Force mission when he suddenly disappeared but was actually captured by a small band of IRON GRENADIER'S also surveying CRIMSON MOON'S convoy. Imprisoned, he escaped by tricking METAL-HEAD & making his way down to India from their prison camp. From there, he contacted the JOES who rendezvous with him & got him back with his Battle Force 2000 teammates. Now, more determined than ever to stop the evils happening by CRIMSON MOON in Vietnam, BLASTER is bringing the heavy artillery to the fight! Last edited by Steel Brigade; 04-08-2024 at 10:23 AM.. |

494. KNOCKDOWN (based on 1987/88 G.I. Joe Battle Force 2000 "Knockdown")
G.I. Joe Origin: USA 'NAM 19XX Battle Force 2000 Knockdown was always the weakest visually for me from the OG Battle Force 2000, (this is probably why we never owned him growing up), so I knew I had to spruce him up a bit to make him as interesting as his teammates. So besides the helmet, I had Avac's make me a special tan colored harness as to give him a uniqueness & still homage the OG. I really liked the solid colors on the custom part's Avac's had made & left them that way (rather than further coloring) to give the team more visual unification. I originally wanted to use the MGR "Kelly" head on Knockdown, but the helmet was not a good fit with that head, so here we are back to using the "Trooper" head that I would like to retire, but still manages (to sometimes) come in handy lol. BIO: KNOCKDOWN has a bit of a bad luck streak, he was on just about every cancelled secret military vehicle development project over the last decade, that is until he was tapped for Battle Force 2000! Now he not only helps develop the vehicles, he's also the man on the scene to repair the vehicles, as he knows every square inch of them, proving to be a valuable resource both on & off the field! |

495. BACK-STOP (based on 1987 G.I. Joe ARAH Persuader driver"Backstop")
G.I. Joe Origin: Canada 'NAM 19XX Battle Force 2000 (Affiliate) Ya didn't think I was going to do a Night Force Backstop & not a regular Back-Stop right? LOL! You also might be thinking "WAIT A MINUTE, BACK-STOP ISN'T PART OF BF2000 SB!!??!!" ...and you'd be right, BUT the G.I.Joe Club made him an honorary member due to his timed release, similar look, & being a vehicle driver... We had Back-Stop & the Persuader growing up & I always liked that figure so he was made pretty much consecutively with the Night Force version. Then this build got held back because I had bought a handful of the last yellow MTF bodies for my Sky Commanders project, (& Back-Stop's lowers ended up being a part of the leftovers from that purchase), thing is I hadn't noticed he had 2 LEFT lower legs, so when I finally went to build him (month's after I had bought the parts - & the yellow bodies being long sold out on the site), I was concerned the factory error couldn't be fixed, luckily MGR to the rescue & I was able to correct the figure with the right/right lower leg! I still don't know if I'm done with Backstop as a character yet, I might have one more version of him planned lol. BIO: BACK-STOP is an ex-hockey player, boxer, wrestler, & demolition derby man, with more broken bones on his health record than any other Joe to date. He's also the main high speed tank driver & pretty much the first to volunteer for any "extra special" missions, thus getting him an "honorary member" status with G.I. JOE's new team Battle Force 2000 for his service. The BF2K is often looking for an 8th, & they'll use BACK-STOP every time, he's helped them from everything to parachuting into hostile environments, to running their test vehicles through the enemy lines, if BACK-STOP wasn't needed on the JOE's lead Armor duty, he'd probably already be a full-time BF2K member! BATTLE FORCE 2000 GRID! (L-R - using all original code names here: Dee-Jay, Blaster, Maverick, Dodger, Blocker, Avalanche, Blaster (Funskool), Knockdown, & Backstop) Last edited by Steel Brigade; 04-27-2024 at 06:29 PM.. |

You finished up your versions of BF2000 and are 5 figures closer to 500. Including Backstop is a no-brainer as his uniform fits in well with the rest of the group. Nicely done SB!
