It's just the worst man. I will bitch about this forever. I said this earlier, but my Viper 3-pack box will just get tossed into the pile, never to be looked at again. Just think of how cool and windowed Viper 3-pack box would have been with all 3 Vipers in a row with their weapons and accessories beautifully displayed around them. It would have been showcased front and center.

I would welcome a chance to buy a vividly colored Cobra Viper w/o buying a 3 pack.

So if we are all getting the wave that was going to release in May 2023 in October of 2022, when will the Dusty/CG wave announced after the Stalker/Twins wave that was supposed to ship before the Stalker/Twins wave ship?
I feel like Hasbro's distribution plan looks like Charlie's Pepe Silva wall from "It's Always Sunny". Same thing for Wave X, the CG wave, which was originally intended for an October/November release this year, which now seems to be when it is going to hit. But Wave IX was never at any point in time planned to come out after Wave X. Think some sites just got their months mixed up I guess. Wave IX was revealed in Jan and pre-orders went up in Feb. Wave X's renders weren't revealed until Wave IX's pre-orders went up in late Feb, and Wave X's plastic prototypes and pre-orders were not up until last week of April. So nothing has been released out of order.

A lot of people are giving Hasbro too much credit. They really don't have much control over global shipping and retail distribution. Once factory manufacturing orders are placed and boats are in the water, things are out of Hasbro's hands. Waves have been mostly in order, apart from the odd figure or set coming out ahead of others. I'd say Hasbro is reading the global situation fairly well, and making the best of the delays |

Alright, with Stalker in-hand?I think it?s a great figure and his loadout makes him a great value. I like the nod to the old with a slightly more modern take. I don?t need perfect representations of the original in 6? form.
I think the head sculpt had a lot of character and is another one with a scar; which I assume is an off and on nod to the original 12? Joe. The beret fits very well and caps off a great sculpt. The shemagh is a nice addition and reflects that he?s seen some shit. While our Stalker was a Vietnam vet, this one?s been to the Middle East. Shocked they didn?t save this for Dusty or reuse it for him. Dusty is a pass for me, because he lacks any updating and he was perfect for an update given all the real-life modern examples we?ve had in the last 20 years. The uniform and deco is rather monochromatic. I like the modern updates to the original Joes, but I think the original figure design made the colors pop. Not just because so many of the O13 were green, but the black boots and harness on the original framed the camo so well. This allowed for the camo to really pop, as well the black details. I think black boots when have been enough here. I wish there was just a little bit more contrast in the camo colors too. I may have to try my hand at dyeing a few items black. His weapons and gear are great and really make this figure seem almost deluxe. I appreciate that everything has its place and that he can carry it all. I love the inclusion of his original SMG, as well as the scabbard for it. I appreciate that they added the LMG, but agree the the box mag seems too small. His hands are very hard, so be sure to warm them up to soften them before you try to have him hold anything. The plastic feels high quality, some figures have seemed a little softer, like the Vipers IIRC. I may have seemed a bit critical, but he?s a favorite. He is a great addition to the line and one of the better figure for sure. Mine has a couple of joints that are a little loose, but if they get much worse, I can buy another and this one will become ?Stunt Stalker? for a new era. No one can get mad at me for getting on the roof of my own house, right? Right? 😉 I'd prefer a more vibrant camo too, and I've had similar thoughts about the black. I'm considering getting an extra Retro SE to do some part swapping to see how it looks.

Got the Twins and a second Stalker (for my son; I caved a few weeks back and got mine from Star along with TF Outback). My Viper packs are coming today. Tomax and Xamot continue the recent trend of really strong releases, they’re great figures. I can’t wait for some CG’s to flank them.
The end of this year is pretty JOE heavy, which after all the waiting is really exciting. |

Because I don't choose to do that.
Yeah, great. Great consolation prize. I get to look at cool artwork and not the action figures that I just spent $90 on. Nope, not because of addiction. Perhaps it's because I love the line of figures that they produce and enjoy purchasing them and displaying them? Probably also has something to do with the fact that I collected G.I. Joe figures as a kid in the 80's and I am enjoying the brand's resurgence. |
