Great Beachhead. I'm usually not a fan of non-masked heads for him, but this is definitely the best I've seen. Looks like a Hit & Run head.

I'm not that a refined customer and mainly just a kitbasher. I took some of the plastic off the neck ball, widened the hole in the head and then used some blu-tack to get the positioning I want.
In terms of the beret or knit hat, it depends on how I feel, how he's posed and who he's next to. I probably lean more to the knit hat for more dynamic poses, but come back to the beret as it's the classic v1 look. Knit watch cap vs beret: sounds like you do what I do. I think my big thing is that it takes just one day where knit watch cap doesn't feel Stalkery enough and retreat back to beret. But currently I'm back to cap with Lonzo though still working through beret explorations with this group and beyond. I may not be the biggest beret Joe fan, but can't let those Eagle Forces guys claim 100% ownership... 2022-08-21_06-24-50 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr |

2022-08-28_03-17-58 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr I had wanted to respond to this comment back in 2018). Since 2018, when I "finalized" my T13 Beachhead back in 2018, and since Stormgard's comment, I was always bothered by the size of the bayonet (way too big), yet was stubbornly comitted to it (kept the bayonet but downsized the rifle). All because of a bit of info stuck in my head--something about BH's crazy collection of knives I know I read somewhere. The problem had always been that I didn't know where this nugget of info came from. Definitely not my own idea, but convinced it was from Hama or Hasbro. Well, finally found it, official from Hasbro lore: "He is rumored to have a collection of spike-knuckled trench knives almost as extensive as those belonging to SNAKE EYES." Previously I wasn't sure about spiked-knuckle thing, but wanted to include that back then as well. I knew for a while that Marauders had a nice version, but kept forgetting to order a few until just last year. And then only last month did I finally try to incorporate onto the figure. Didn't even consider that it would fit in the front vest sheath, and not obstruct two handed rifle action to boot. 2022-08-28_03-25-20 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Anyway, the quote is fro |

At this point I'm ok with what any Joe fan prefers, whatever time mix mash-up it ends up. I'm guilty of it myself to some levels, no matter how much I try. The trick for getting the resonant mix is one that can find a good mix from modern and vintage, while just simply looking great on its own I guess. I still won't accept putting a beret over a balaclava, no matter what. Reaching a point where if I see one more new pic of CI Beachhead that way... |
