Next up is a figure that is a bit of a departure for me as it’s not a straight-up copy of a Joe figure.
I got a couple First Order SnowTrooper and FlameTrooper figures as a present a few years ago and I really liked the heads. I always thought the SnowTrooper head looked a lot like the Cobra Air Trooper helmet. Using that as a starting point, I thought I’d do a “re-imagined” old-school Viper Glider Pilot. Seeing as how the original Viper Glider Pilot is just a Cobra Trooper with a silver Cobra symbol, I wanted to jazz him up a little. I gave my Pilot the Star Wars head, of course, but also gave him a T-shirt torso for that “Sunbow” vibe. I also gave my guy silver gloves and a chrome faceplate. I grabbed a foamy glider airplane from Dollar Tree, took the tail wing section and used it as the glider. Honestly, I really could have used the main wing section as the Viper Glider as the scale looks awesome…but I just don’t have a clamshell big enough to fit the bigger wing section. Here is my re-imagined Cobra Viper Pilot COBRA VIPER PILOT (V1): 1983

This guy came to be only cuz I had started to do a Joerauders version of 1994 Star Brigade Effects, but Effects was just not coming together. I didn?t want to waste the gun so I checked on Yojoe to see who else might use that type of rifle. Lo and behold, it was Law V3.
LAW (V3): 1993

Thanks guys.
Thomas Edison tried and failed more than 2000 times to develop the filament for the incandescent light bulb. When asked about it, he said, ?I didn?t fail, I found 2000 ways how not to make a light bulb?. I say that to say this. Sometimes I don?t get it just right the first time through. After looking at the last set of pictures, I didn?t quite like what I saw, so I tweaked my LAW just a bit. I traded the bandoliers for a WWII Japanese cross belt. Also traded out the left side double magazine pouch for a holster and pistol from ?Street Luge Firefly?. Lastly, I took the helmet color back to a lighter, monochrome gray. Looks more vintage accurate that way. Lastly, I changed his knee pads from blue to gray to try to break up all that blue and painted the leg armor blue to emulate better the blue padding of the original figure. LAW (V3): 1993

Round 2 of LAW is awesome! Really a great update all around, and having done this version in the past myself, I can truly appreciate your faithful take on him!

I started this Joerauder project almost 4 years ago. I have heretofore felt that my skills were not up to the task to attempt this next figure. I still feel that I?m not quite up to the task of doing a V1 Alley Viper, but I?m actually running out of Joes that I can construct with the current Marauders catalog. Anyway, here is my best attempt at one of the greats.
ALLEY VIPER (V1): 1989
