Your instincts serve you well. I wanted to build him on the Retaliation buck but don’t have one handy.

That's a beautiful MTF based recreation of Alley Viper! Love how the colors pop and if you don't mind I'll be using this recipe to make one. I got a few orange troopers so I should have most of the fodder for this. This is one of my favorite customs of yours and I love how you've used vintage parts to execute this bad boy so well. Awesome work bro!!

————— Thanks again for the comments, everyone! Much appreciated! Have my Red Shadows in progress now so they are probably next, just dog sitting this week so final touches and pics will probably be next week.

Took me so long to find a clean Checkpoint Alpha at a good price so I like to use it in pics as often as I can. Such a cool little Joe playset, one of my favorites. Quote:
Lmao! Glad you love that Ace, definitely the oddest of the bunch but I’m so happy with how he came out with that helmet look.

Haha, yeah, finding out more and more as I mess with stuff and do customs, any of those little bits that look useful or interesting, I just throw in my bins for later. Usually end up finding uses for everything in there.

Really happy with that group, I need to get working on the next! So many guys left to make but still stalled on my Red Shadows, need to finish them up and pick my next project. Lmao! Big thanks to you and all the stuff everyone else has been posting though, got overwhelmed looking at all of the new parts that are coming from Marauder, EF & with the Roboskull so seeing some cool stuff being made definitely helped force me to grab some parts and get to work. ——————— But finally have some new stuff done and it’s only fitting in this thread to start with the neon figure! Haha. Just a bunch of guys who had been stranded on my desk in various stages of unfinished to it feels great to finally get them off my desk and into the action. So first up from this group is a figure I had been planning for a long time. The v1 Interrogator was one of my favorite Cobras growing up because I was a huge fan of the Battle Copters so when I saw the V2 was a mail order I always wanted him. Unfortunately I never was able to pick him up so I knew I had to add him to my modern collection and we finally did just that. Easy build for the most part, started with a Marauder German, added a casted head, a Marauder belt & holster and the main ingredients were in place. Wanted that cross strap look with the Cobra logo so I went with boss fight web gear, then sculpted a few bits onto it to break up the neon & give him a look closer to the original figure. Also sculpted a strap to attach the holster to the leg, some cuffs to his boots & sleeves and capped it off with a sticker from ToyHax. Really happy with the end result, totally different look from the Club v1 and something that was a lot of fun to make. At some point I may use this formula to add the convention exclusive version to my ranks since I’ve been tackling a few guys from that set. Interrogator v2 With my childhood original: And some of my Battle Corps purple figures: And some Battle Copter action & interrogation:

Man, your version of the Cobra Interrogator is just fantastic and so much better than the Club version. The colors are spot on, purple on grey combined with neon is so pleasing to the eyes. Then your decision to go with a Marauder German with a BFS web gear and then sculpt a strap to attach the holster to the leg is just ingenious! Love the small details added to finalize a superb execution!
Action scenes are always a bonus and ton of fun checking them out! Awesome seeing new work/posts from you man! |
