Never understood the design aesthetic of Wildcard, but this is a great recreation of the original.

Nice work on Wild Card! He just needs a Mean Dog to run those BATS over (it would make life a lot easier for him!)...

It looks like you had a ton of fun utilizing a JoyToy figure to recreate Wild Card. Such an outstanding execution!
I'm not so familiar with this line of action figures but I'm glad you made the jump as that got those creative juices flowing and inspired you to revisit a character you didn't have the parts for. I look forward to seeing more JoyToy based customs here! |

Can’t wait for him to show up in your thread down the road, especially since you had him growing up. I didn’t have that connection to the character going in but like a few other lesser used Joe’s, really ended up being a fan of his once I made the custom. Quote:
I would say ease of use: Marauder, Boss Fight and then JoyToy. Mostly because these guys have separate joints and split limbs / body parts all over. Then you need some heat to pop some parts together. Helps with the prep work everything coming in pieces though. Visually: I think they are all really good. These seem more detailed than the others, a lot of tiny bits to paint on these guys when you start looking at their accessories. Plus or minus depending on how much tiny brush work you want to do. Haha. Then there’s the neck split, on the unpainted body it bothered me more but once I did the flesh tone I noticed it but didn’t think it took away from the figure. Obviously a scarf or closed vest takes care of that. Parts available: I’m not as familiar with these so maybe they have more parts than what I’ve come across so far but I guess they have less body parts available than BF or Marauder at the moment. I could be wrong on that though. First go with them, I’m a fan. Think Wild Card came out looking really cool with these parts.....maybe too cool for Wild Card, haha, but I have him slicing BAT’s apart with his machete so he’s a badass to me now so I love this build for him. Quote:
Thanks! Thanks, appreciate it! Quote:
I tried to find him a new ride since I don’t have a Mean Dog and pulled the Swamp Masher for him since I haven’t used that for many pics yet. One look at the o ring guy sort of cramped in there and I knew that wasn’t happening so off on foot he went! Either way, he was slicing a BAT or someone’s rifle with that machete so he needed to get out regardless. Haha. Quote:

Have a couple more figures on hand so hopefully I can carve out the time to get someone else done, I know the one I have planned will take a bit longer since he has more detailed paint apps. But plenty of figures on my to-do list, parts to pull from and green stuff to sculpt so here’s hoping it’s not as long of a break until my next custom!

To answer your question, I think you did a pretty accurate homage. With that said, diaper crotch’s are a no go haha.
Your paint work on those legs? Damn near perfect. So overall I did it bro.

Hit, the paint did really add to the Wild Card, nice one dude, loving that figure! ;)
P.S. I wish I had tons of Marauder bits n parts in bins haha, cool! Yeah gotta luv them Classifieds, I feel ya, still not bought any myself but they are cool enough, I used to be a 6 inch collect only for such a long time, glad I went back to 1:18 though! Yeah in Ireland, not Irish tho, other half is and she didn’t wanna move, an your right beautiful place when it ain’t raining lol, did notice that a lot when I first came here, especially on sunny days. Anyways JoyToy looks great, I’m easy though as long as they aren’t The Corps quality I dig any brand, heck even some of the Corps figures have some charm, only some of them though lol... then there’s Chap-Mei and that Soldier Force(?) one lol... |

Thanks! I was really liking how the figures took to paint. Really happy with how the added color on the knee pads came out as well. Wild Card wasn’t the most exciting figure but actually like the custom so much that I could see picking up the vintage figure now. Quote:

Haha, I started with one bin when that first Marauder KS dropped and it’s just kept growing. Especially now that I also have a Boss Fight bun. I dabble in 6” with Star Wars and one off lines but for Joe, just can’t do it, especially with how many customs I’ve added to my shelves. It’s really going to be crazy when I see what my final tally looks like when I finish the Joe customs I need to get done. We got lucky in that it seemed to rain when we were on the bus and then the sun would come out as soon as we stopped to explore. Really great trip, definitely want to get back to explore some more and so my Wife can see it. Haha, my wife got me a sack of Corps from a flea market one day so I’ll be painting them into something at some point. Not for a while though because I have a bunch of Joe’s left to do,

Still on my yard work / nice weather custom break but I saw this Black Major Snake Eyes on eBay and it reminded me of my Funskool custom so I just had to grab it for Past & Present shots:
Still love this custom and this BM Snake Eyes captures everything I love about it. Snake Eyes in bright colors, I’m in! Haha. Then the mustard yellow accessories, crazy looking Timber and the fact that I don’t have / never had a v2 o ring Snake Eyes, well worth the pick up for me.
