Has anyone ordered from Vortious lately and any other way to reach him? I have emailed more than enough times to sadly no reply.
I ordered from his guy back on March 2020, YES, 2020, and I have yet to receive anything 1 year later. I get the 1 man show thing and all, but a reply would be nice. At this point, I wish I could file some kind of complaint, but the order is sooo old. All I can say at this point is order at your own risk from Vortious. |

Still waiting on a small order from 1/1/2020. I've been told it's been ready since October, but somehow he can't seem to drop in the mail. As many times as I've asked him about it, you'd think it would be a priority to get it out. I've only done one active order at a time; because, he seems overdue to announce a shutdown. I'm surprised he's still trying to hang on. A lot of past solo casters quit when their delivery times got this bad.

I concur. I placed an order in Jan of 19, got the stuff at the beginning of Covid. So 14 months? No thank you.

Damn! And I get bitchy with Marauders 2-3 week delay.
Good thing I learned how to cast stuff, for my own personal usage.

Man, I patiently waited on a $100+ order a few years ago. I know he was going through some family stuff back then, but it took over a year to finally receive my order, and when I did, many of the parts were not the quality I was expecting. It was not worth me haggling with him to get better parts. So, I just decided that I would never order from him again. It's like what that great philosopher, Michael Scott, once said, "Fool me once - strike one, but fool me twice - strike three."

I do remember him saying back around the time of my order that he needed more people to order items so he would have the money to produce mine. I was like what the hell man I paid for mine and he said that's not how this works. He used my money to pay for other people's stuff and had to wait for more orders to be able to process mine. I get that's how some businesses work with cash flow and payment terms and such, but for some heads and helmets that's crap.

I used him a few times in the past, but got fed up with the constant wait. By the time I got the stuff, I'd forgotten what I wanted it for or had gone down a different route with a particular figure. Being able to get accessories from Marauder made them a much better source.
He got a roasting a few years back on Joecustoms when he said that he needed new orders to pay for the plastic to fulfil his existing orders. It shouldn't be the way to run a business. One of his USPs is the fact he casts in some many different colours, but I also think it is the cause of his problems as he seems to wait until he has sufficient orders before producing casts in a particular colour. |

He clearly works on a grossly flawed model. And previously had implied that this was his full time job, so I really don’t know why it takes him so long. And the cash flow thing is obviously a dubious methodology and is what ultimately ended my customership with him. Waiting is one thing, but it feels like it’s reached the “if” and not “when” you get your order stage.

And here I am lamenting my MTF order from 3/26 hasn't shipped yet. Vortius has some cool stuff, but I haven't ordered from him in a couple years.
