The only one I finished up this weekend was one I started working on a while ago but my initial go at sculpting forced me to focus on just working on one figure to keep myself from going crazy. Haha. Worked out though because I really think it gave me a nice indicator for how much I improved with my sculpting over a very short period. Almost embarrassed at the first attempt now. Haha.
But onto the figure itself, I loved the original blue 90’s Eel as a kid so when they released the purple version during the Battlecorps years, I was all in on him too! Just such cool designs and the colors popped so well. Combine that with me never having an original Eel, still don’t actually, this was just one that always appealed to me. So same build as my v2 Eel, with this one I used the lavender Boss Fight blank as my start, the same Marauder straps and chest plate that I used for my v2 but then I aimed to make the sculpting on this one much more accurate to the original figure. So less crazy exaggerated fins and goggles. The paint job called for a nice purple and then the same neon yellow and fire red accents. I painted this one’s head correctly but I went off script on the belly by keeping that purple. I felt like it should have been that way on the original figure. Battle Corps Eel Cobra Eel v3 Haha, the first attempt I did just makes me laugh now. He’ll be a good squad leader for my purple Eel with the more exaggerated look. With my vintage 90’s Eels and then all three ARAH run Eels together: Then taking down some Joe’s!:

Nice. Definitely a marked improvement in sculpting. If I remember right the first eel was your first attempt at sculpting. Great job.

Haha, sorry, forgot the sunglasses warning! Totally worth it for that cat GIF though! Lmao!
And thanks! Really liking this one too! Thanks! The original o-ring figure was so awesome, colors pop so well in my modern update. Quote:
Yup, the blue Eel was the first figure I went all in on sculpting. He’ll be a nice time capsule guy, haha, a good, “here’s what happened when I didn’t know what I was doing.” He’s a cool figure though so even though he’s rough around the edges compared to this second version, I’m gonna enjoy him being in the collection. He was a 1993 release along with a ton of other Battlecorps guys so he was easy to miss. Really loved him growing up though. Plus I didn’t get to troop build much so the new color allowed me to have two Eels as a kid. —————— Applied the stickers on my Steel Crusher to turn that into the Jackhammer from MASK. Hope to get some pictures of that taken today so I can get it posted in the next day or two. One that plenty of people did since it’s just a ToyHax sticker sheet but looking forward to having it cause some damage in pics. Haha. Makes me want a Cliff Dagger custom even more now!

Nah, It would be cheaper for you to just send Cliff in this direction. Feel free to include the rest of the VENOM members as well since you would really want to see a group shot as well! Since you have all of the original MASK stuff that I don’t, it’ll save you from having duplicates in your collection too! Win win!
Haha, I can’t recommend the Jackhammer sticker sheet enough. Just looking at my two side by side, really liking the Jackhammer look a lot more than the toned down real world Cobra movie look.

Loving the 90s Eels man! The fully painted head on your second one and the smaller scale fins and googles all seem to blend nicely together but the overall design and sculpting which essentially remained the same are superb!
I also thought that the yellow pops nicely on those vibrant blue/purple bodies. Both are excellent customs!! |

You’re fearless haha! Venturing into the 90’s Joes is dangerous. Neons dangerous man. Thank God you know your stuff Becuase this one is awesome.
Your Clay game gets better by the figure and it’s damn near a spot on image of the OG. Well done my friend!
