Since I put so much work into Gristle and the troop builders of the Evil Headhunters, I really felt the need to make my attempt at getting their leader done. Headman was a figure I did have growing up, my original is missing pieces though so I either need to find them or pick up a new one. It was just such a goofy character though that I loved him. Since I only had Headman and the Stormtrooper as a kid, they were always a package deal and they were tough outs for the Joe team.
So another easy build here. Just a black Marauder suit, the blonde John Wick head (almost done with them all!) and for the pictures he stole Zorro’s hat. Hopefully someone gets us a nice fedora soon so Headman can get a more accurate hat. The paint job on this one was the tough part so tried to freehand the stripes first......turned out poorly! So then I taped him him which worked out great....I just didn’t account for how thick my stripes would be. Haha, was so focused on straight lines that he went from pinstripes to full stripes. It looked cool though and cleaned up well so I figured I’d go with it. Down the road I could always sculpt the bolo tie and go with a pinstripe suit but for this version of Headman, I found it funny for him to be even more out there suit wise. Final parts were sculpting his face mask using green stuff and then giving him his gold plated gun like the original had. Think I came out with a pretty fun Headman who looks great with his crazy group of Evil Headhunters. Headman With my other Evil Headhunters and a launcher that was similar to his (not sure where that one went): Running the streets: Some WIP pics that show how I went from pinstripes to full gold stripes, haha: And now he really needs a new hat! AND that’s over 100 pages & 1000 posts for the thread! Haha. Was not something I was expecting when I started it a while back. Very much appreciative of everyone coming in, checking things out, leaving comments & helping me keep momentum! Really wanted all of these guys made but highly doubt it would have happened as quickly without all of the good times posting & chatting here. So big thanks, everyone!

Okay, that is pretty cool. Love how the jacket came out......and shockingly I have heard of Headman mostly from customs I've seen. Awesome that you finally finished them off.
Was Gristle like his enforcer? I'm not sure I've heard of him before. I've seen your custom, but I've forgotten to ask about him. As for the hat, is the vintage Headman cheap enough that you could cut the hat off of him? I know ARAH heads are a little larger, but with most modern figures being 4 inch it might work. I have no idea as I've never seen a vintage Headman figure in person.

I never had him growing up and didn’t catch up to when Headman shows up in the comics but I always assumed he was Headman’s #2. So Headman runs the show and Gristle handles the grunt work. Not sure how that would look, I thought about sculpting a fedora too. I’m assuming someone has to make a fedora soon, how are we all gonna finish our Indy customs? So we’ll see what comes first, an official fedora, me tying to sculpt one or finding another method. Haha.
