Hit WM the other day. Took some pictures for those shocked or doubting.
First, the Joes (2 Baroness, 2 SE), then He-Man, one side of the action figure aisle, the other side of the action figure aisle, Playmobil, bike accessories, Lego, and the USELESS "help" button that N-E-V-E-R works. I needed to get a Baroness. Took at LEAST 20 minutes to get someone with a key. And I wasn't the only customer waiting.... 46zone-funny thing about this was that I was thinking I had seen something like this near Albany NY.....I thought he said he was from Philly, but if it is Albany, yeah that makes sense as just outside of Albany is Troy NY and (at least 20 years ago) they had a really high crime incident rate.

Pretty sad when plastic low cost mass produced toys need to be locked up. How low can we get.

Man that’s the Bronx right now, Lol.
They are throwing batteries in the left field bleachers, Committing batteries in the right field bleachers, The only one without a battery is me when I get back to my car. In all seriousness they keep the Marvel Legends (and body wash and deodorant) behind lock and key at the Times Square Walgreens for a couple years now. Since at least the Infinity War build a figure waves. But I haven’t seen that in any other Walgreens in the city. Of which there are many. There is a cop in the lobby too. I guess some stores get hit more frequently.

“When should I consider moving to a less populated area?” “When they’re locking up toys at my Walmart!”

Man, I used to spend a lot of time staring at the boxes and comparing all different figures to carefully choose what I would spend my childhood allowance on - I doubt any WM employee would put up with that if they had to stand there to make sure I didn't lift anything. Speaking of lifting, I bought something from what are probably the last Toys-R-Us in the world (in Hong Kong) and as I walked out the alarms went blaring off. Of course the cashier just forgot the deactivate those magnetic strip anti-theft devices but doing the "walk of shame" back to cashier counter is never fun. Still it's better than having to wait 20 minutes for someone to come and unlock the goods. Last edited by Ultimas; 12-13-2020 at 01:46 AM.. Reason: spelling edit |
