Joe bros-I never doubted you for a moment, as a matter of fact I believe I had seen something like this before....but am not certain if it was a Walmart or other retailer. The thing that gets me is that even with it locked up behind glass it still isn't tidy and neat on the pegs (perhaps to showcase the various options).
46zone-funny thing about this was that I was thinking I had seen something like this near Albany NY.....I thought he said he was from Philly, but if it is Albany, yeah that makes sense as just outside of Albany is Troy NY and (at least 20 years ago) they had a really high crime incident rate.

In all seriousness they keep the Marvel Legends (and body wash and deodorant) behind lock and key at the Times Square Walgreens for a couple years now. Since at least the Infinity War build a figure waves. But I haven’t seen that in any other Walgreens in the city. Of which there are many. There is a cop in the lobby too. I guess some stores get hit more frequently.

Man, I used to spend a lot of time staring at the boxes and comparing all different figures to carefully choose what I would spend my childhood allowance on - I doubt any WM employee would put up with that if they had to stand there to make sure I didn't lift anything.

Speaking of lifting, I bought something from what are probably the last Toys-R-Us in the world (in Hong Kong) and as I walked out the alarms went blaring off. Of course the cashier just forgot the deactivate those magnetic strip anti-theft devices but doing the "walk of shame" back to cashier counter is never fun. Still it's better than having to wait 20 minutes for someone to come and unlock the goods.

Yeah book stores were really bad with those magnetic strips. I saw a lot more theft working in a book store chain than I ever did in Toys R Us tough. Crazy.

I think TRU is alive and well in Canada but can't say how many locations they have.
