Having previously worked store security, that is exactly what we do, either that or just watch you every time you enter the store

I always open the boxes to look. Feels sneaky but if those Walmart turds would do their job I wouldnt have to do it for them.

I think you could try to do the same in a Best Buy store to see if you can pass the door... It could be a good test so some folks don't think people is not watching at them when they get into some well known stores...

The trick is to procede as though you don't think you're doing anyting shady. I used to creep around aisles to get a look at all sides of the pallet. Now, I walk up to it and take my time looking it over. I don't move boxes around or anything, but I would say half the time, an employee will ask me what I'm looking for (in a courteous way). But if I see what I want, I will open it and make it my own, with no shame or humility about it. They're a seller, I'm a buyer. What's the big deal?

I feel so dirty...the wm near me had 4-5 on brickseek all day yesterday. AT 9pm, it changed to 6+. SO I jumped in my car and rushed to the store. On the pegs there were only 2 SE and 2 SS, nothing else.
So I looked around and between the aisles there were cases waiting to be stocked, and right there a full case of them. I looked around for help but nada. and it was 950pm, 10 mins to close. I took the case to the aisle, used my car keys to open the box, dumped all the figures out and took the lone Baroness and rushed to the checkout. As I headed to the self checkout, I saw a deputy walk in to the main entrance, and I was wondering if I was going to be stopped for retail theft. I scanned the toy, paid for it and walked right past him without looking. Got into the car, sat for a few minutes to see if flashing lights appear behind mine, and then drove home scotfree...Mission accomplished, and in my head the Mission Impossible theme music was playing!!! all jokes aside you should probably be fine. Walmart has so many hundreds of people shopping a day and most employees wouldn't care enough to stop you even if they did pay attention to any printout (which they never do) |

They dont do that great of a job at their job. I find open crap all the time behind stuff that I presume was stolen and the packaging was tossed.

Congrats on your find, but also please enjoy your new celebrity status of having a security cam printout posted up in the breakroom so the employees can spot you and help you get the Joes next time you shop

I think if you look like your trying to be sneaky about opening boxes and looking in them then your gonna get questioned. If you just do it like you want to buy something in the box then your not as bad. I grab boxes off the top shelf all the time to see if what I am looking for is in them. If I see a pallet I look for boxes that interest me. Didn't know the you come in here to much nazis are watching. Come to think of it how often are you guys going in walmart to get that much notice?

I think opening boxes and buying the products are the least of their worries. I saw a woman last week come to the checkouts with a fairly full cart. She pulled out a roll of paper towels and pushed her cart into a line with no cashier. She went to the next line and bought the paper towels then as she was walking by her stashed cart she grabbed it and walked out. She lifted up her receipt for the towels at the person at the door and never slowed down. I pointed all this out as it was happening to the cashier in my line and they grunted.

Hell, if he opened it, put the remaining product on the shelves, and then used the self check out where he scanned, paid for, and bagged his items all on his own, then at the very least he deserved an employee discount.
