But things being in stores first has been common to all the new GI Joe stuff. Classified Wave 2 and Cobra Island were both in stores long before any preorders shipped.

I’m aware of the subtleties of HHFF’s work. Which is my point. We won’t get those from Hasbro. As templates? The overall builds except Scarlett are already build Hasbro has made, with the slight exception of RB’s lower legs. HHFF has taken the templates and enhanced them, but the templates already existed. Tweaking the templates is kind of HHFF’s sweet spot. But if my point isn’t clear by now, clearly I lack the ability to articulate it.
Why would they NOT be able to change existing builds to match HHFF's builds? Didn't Bobby change the POC CT builds in the SDCC Cobra MCC set (IMO, he didn't need to change anything, but he did)? Isn't wolf squad Outback a kitbash released by Hasbro? I don't understand why they wouldn't consider making these changes in the builds and decos. I think if they can't spend the money on new tooling, then the next best option is to use the best combination of existing parts to make these figures. HHFF's decos are also not as extravagant as the Classified figures, which could keep the costs down. Or are you saying that Hasbro will not consider these changes as it's too much work to design figures like this and it's just easier to give us re-releases of 25th Duke, RB, and Scarlett?

I'm sorry but I still don't understand your point. Your saying Hasbro will not use 50th parts with small kitbash changes (50th Duke head on 50th Flint figure, GH lower legs on Ret RB, Helix legs on Ren Scarlett torso) because they cannot change the builds they already have used for these figures?

Looks to me like the single carded figures are going to be done the easy route, what ever the last incarnation was, let's use it and repainted like the original 80s Joe's. Less investment for Hasbro and more profit in this first resurrection of the GI Joe 3 3/4 line...

I’m trying to say the following:
HHFF’s builds are being bandied about with the “hey Hasbro, do these!” as if the builds are hugely unique. They aren’t- Hasbro has released figures on many of those builds already- or nearly. Hasbro using them as templates is silly, as Hasbro made the templates to begin with, for the most part. On the contrary, I think figures that look similar are likely, but I don’t think Hasbro requires HHFF for inspiration to get there. After all, the customs are 80% repainted Hasbro builds. As far as some of the micro details that HHFF is known for, I do think that’s beyond what Hasbro will give us. None of this should be interpreted as a slight to HHFF. My reverence for his work is well documented.

So... check your clearance aisles, I guess.
I don’t think this means the line is failing or anything... I think it’s just typical WM shenanigans.

Yeah, that store probably got that side cap feature others have seen, but the line wasn't given a "home" in the new modular for the holidays. Or the SKU wasn't "refreshed" in the system.
I saw my local store put Star Wars Retro figures on clearance, only to reset them to full price a couple weeks later. Walmart gonna Walmart I guess.

Also... the figure itself... the new face printing looks great. The other paint is bullshit however. The grey highlights look like a three year old applied them. And my figure needs a wig adjustment because this one is forcing her head down at a weird angle. I’m gonna fix that and throw it on a 50th body I guess.

My reverence for his work is well documented. But Hasbro has never put a Duke Head on a Flint body. Or Gung Ho lowers on Ret RB legs and knees. That is the "template" that we are talking about. Why would Hasbro completely not consider this? They don't have to tool anything new. Just put together parts that haven't been put together before, and then paint them in V1 colors, which they haven't done with these parts before. IDK. I guess we will have to wait 3 more weeks to find out. I have never pre-ordered anything from Walmart. Is this common for them to clearance items in stores even though they haven't shipped the pre-orders yet?
