Been following your thread with absolute awe. Wonderful stuff! BTW, what kind of neon paint is that?

This is just hobby shop paint from AC Moore before they closed, that’s what I always used until they closed up shop. For this Low Light specifically: - base coat (did two, I believe, maybe three or just touch ups): delta creative Ceramcoat Oyster white 02492 Acrylic paint from Hobby Lobby - neon top (probably two or three with touch ups): Nicole’s craft studio Neon yellow 72769 Acrylic craft paint from AC Moore. So did the base coats so the neon would only be going over the bright white paint, would let them sit and dry for a while, then I’d hit the neon every few hours. Then I sealed it with my spray which gave it an extra shine. Definitely learned a method to make neon, bright colors & yellow a lot easier to handle. I need to see if I can get this paint anywhere else now that AC Moore closed or find something comparable. Lot of 90’s Joes use neon yellow so I’m worried I’m gonna run out before I finish them all! Thanks! Love having a glow in the dark Low Light in the collection, haha. Have to circle back and check yours out again, I know I stumbled upon Axon’s while mine was in process. Such a fun version to take on.

You rock man! I love this Low Light Dino hunter. Nailed the neon and the build is perfect again.
I don’t ever remember seeing these guys at the store but I remember I went to visit my cousins one year and they had the Dino hunter said and I couldn’t believe what I was looking at. I had no idea these existed and at first I was convinced they weren’t GI Joe but somebody ripping them off. Now I have an appreciation for these guys and glad to see you recreate it.

But anyway, great notes on the Low Light. I dig the helmet, makes sense and also improves upon the original design. Always perferred this version to the other one because I didn't know why Low Light had black hair all of sudden (changes like that gave me fits as a kid and it's even worse now).

So much good stuff! The BFS parts usage is genius! Also love the Dino Hunters Low Light! You really got the neon color to pop.

I don’t know when I found out about this group, completely missed it as a kid and only discovered it during a YoJoe deep dive one day. Probably fairly recently because it was likely while planning out my ARAH customs, Quote:
Yeah, I didn't see these on shelf either. Don't know if I wasn't as plugged in at the time, but I remember seeing them later and wishing I had gotten them.

Always perferred this version to the other one because I didn't know why Low Light had black hair all of sudden (changes like that gave me fits as a kid and it's even worse now). Thanks! No problem, everyone is always sharing their expertise which helps me with my customs so if I stumbled into some good neon painting tips, I’m happy to share. Haha. The Marauder night vision goggles are just so cool, made the paint on the two versions slightly different to give it that 93 to 94 Joe feel where everything at least had a subtle tweak. Haha, it’s funny because I’m so used to the v3 that when I first saw this build repainted on YoJoe I was like, “why’s he have blonde hair?” Took me a minute to remember the original was a blonde. Low Light is so funny because the neon is so bright that I had to switch his background because it was blowing up the focus. Haha. Definitely takes some trial and error but with a good base coat, neon isn’t too bad.

Thanks, appreciate it! I love taking those shots, usually as much about those as it is just showing off a custom for me.
