I'm really loving this arc. Great story and artwork. The cover is a nice throwback. It looks like we're gearing up for Snake Hunt with the Oktober Guard appearance and confirmation to Cobra that "Snake Eyes" is alive and well. This issue is about as perfect as it can possibly be for me.

Didn’t Brekhov, Horror Show, Schrage and Stormavik die back in a Special Missions issue??

I guess Hama's list of dead characters didn't include Oktober Guard? Or maybe Special Missions have been designated non-canon? I get it that Hama might forget about the death of a character (or four), but isn't that what editors are for? Shouldn't they be that second set of eyeballs for this sort of thing? Regardless, I'm not losing any sleep over it. Still a great issue.

Can’t really non-canon SM as that very storyline crossed over into ARAH #92.
Maybe they went on a secret mission to spy on Darklon too? |

I haven't picked it up, yet, but before we freak out: the Oktober Guard was given some new members in 1990, and still a few more circa 2014.
Yes, Brekhov, Schrage, Stormavik and Horrorshow are dead. Daina, Dragonsky, Lt. Gorky, Sgt. Misha, "Red Star", Colonel Chikatilo and Malyenkiy are all alive at last check. 4 are dead. 7 are alive.

You have to be F-ing kiding me, talk about asleep at the wheel. This is BS, is a little continuity too much to ask for?

Wow. This is disappointing. Especially since the Oktober Guard have appeared since the relaunch (issue 174), without the dead guys.
I don't like it, but there are two ways to No-Prize it: 1- They survived their supposedly "fatal" mission to Sierra Gordo from Special Missions #26. Darklon survived a missile attack, Cobra Commander survived a gunshot to the chest, Sneak Peek somehow survived his first death... wouldn't be unprecedented for Hama to pull the same crap---errr--- storyline idea with the Guard. 2- In issue 146 (Star Brigade story), Red Star is mentioned as looking exactly like Col. Brekhov. You could surmise that there's some sort of weird cloning, LMD or android program that the Russians cooked up, which created these "new" (issue 264) versions of the Guard. These new Guardsmen don't know they're fakes, so they have the memories of the originals, which would explain the scene above. While I'm not a fan of either theory, I could actually see the LM/android idea tying into Revanche. Of course, Hama probably will not remember that the Guard are "dead", until a fan mentions it to him...then he'll spin one of the theories, above. Similar to how he backtracked with Sneak Peek and made up the silly, unexplained, "he's not dead" idea.
