EDIT: This is not meant as a slight to the Division mind you, it's just that in terms of specific "mountain warfare" instruction in preparation for deployment, 10th Mountain Division units are given the same training priority as other light infantry units. So Zulu, are there any small "specialized" or special-ops like units in the army that send their guys to get mountain and/or arctic warfare training? Just wondering what units guys like Alpine or Snow Job would realistically fall into.

I'm willing to bet most special operations/special operations-capable personnel have received some manner of military mountaineering and/or arctic warfare training, but apart from pre-deployment preparations for going to Afghanistan or other similarly mountainous theatres of operation, they are most likely to have sought out that training as individual soldiers and not as part of a required regimental work-up. AFAIK, the only US special operations organization that has routine, compulsory, full-time arctic/mountain warfare training are the US Navy SEALs. Since late 2008, all graduates of the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL program now have to take a month-long course in arctic warfare/survival conducted by SEAL Cold Weather Detachment Kodiak before they can receive their SEAL team assignments. What about desert training? I haven't come across any official desert survival or warfare schools/courses, which seems odd considering that's an environment where a lot of our current troops are working in. Are there perhaps civilian desert courses that the Army might send some individuals through?

Outside of the Army, the Navy runs the DEST (Desert Environmental Survival Training) program for SEALs and certain USMC units. |

Hit & Run came from 10th Mountain but is a fastroper. He's part of Flint's helicopter assault unit.
Alpine rotates as needed, where his specialized training comes in handy.

Though I don't follow Green Arrow I'm assuming you'd want a fairly muscular torso so I'd probably go with one of the Resolute Snake Eyes. But POC Zartan might also work well depending on the style of Green Arrow that you want. Some parts have to be swapped out of course and Zartan's vest doesn't work but the hood could be usedful. The vest would be the hardest part to find. Maybe the POC Recondo vest could be modified but it's got too many pouches on it--you might want something sleeker. But Recondo's forearms with the sleeves could be used and POC Duke's upper arms would work nicely.

Most of the PoC Zartan body would work: legs and arms.
What version of Green Arrow are you shooting for?

Just a thought, but I figure the Joes could develop their own Desert training course.
