You mean he's not a smarmy CEO-type who was hit by space radiation that caused his skin to turn to metal and, um, some electricky thing I didn't understand?

I personally enjoyed the FF movies as MOVIES. Perhaps they're not the best comic-based movies, but campy, good fun, none-the-less. Please don't shoot.

But, you are a comic fan and are use to it so of course its not outlandish to you. Its no to me either, as I am a fan.
It doesn't really matter at this point, the movie came and went and didn't do so hot. So, no point in debating it to death now over what might have been.

Gray Goo Theory sucks donkey balls. It sucked for Galactus and it sucked for Gort (Day Earth Stood Still) too. Nobody likes gray goo theory. Enormous planet killing giants/robots would have been a satisfying order of awesomeness with a side of awesomesauce, but noooooooooo all we got was a moldy peice of toast and a glass of used dish water. |

Well from reading interviews, the actor really tried to bring the spirit of Doom into the script with small things like trying to hint at Doom's deceased mother and other background history like that. I didn't see that type of stuf from mr. charmed.
I would also add that he acted like Doom acted in the comics, some of that may be due to the script, but I think he helped with the whole performance being similar to comic Doom. Charmed dude didn't really give off the nobility attitude to me. |
