well I made the list ... primarily when the issue of race in G.I.joe popps up.. you would be shocked to realize just How many "minorities" are in the joe/ cobra mythos. Contrary to popular belief.
my only issue with the 5 packs was the greenshirts, that didn't copy the original TRU greenshirts that were multicultural. as for cajuns... I would definitely consider it an ethnicity, similar to Inuits being different than native Americans, West Indians (Haitians, Jamaicans, etc) being different than Africans, or even African Americans. although arguably, it could be considered culture rather than ethnicity.

"Tropic Thunder" comes to mind, but I hope it's not that. What about "The Jerk"? |

I know I'm coming into the thread without reading the last 23 pages.... but oh well.
My opinion: I don't care if they change the color of a person's skin. I read/watch GI Joe for the characters, not the color of the character's skin. Not to mention, ROC/IDW are different continuities of GI Joe, so they characters aren't REALLY the same character, just a manifestation of a character. I think people just need to settle down about it, accept it, and enjoy GI Joe for what it is, a story. |

I don't think it matters if they change a characters ethnicity, or gender. i mean for the most part they have only done it to 2nd and 3rd tier characters who in most cases had either little or no major storylines or who's face was never seen anyway.
if the character acts the same as they always have then who cares about a change. yes it would also be nice to see new characters from time to time instead of re-imagining classic ones sometimes |

G.I.Joe has been fairly mixed. Perhaps a little less ethnically diverse as the US military, but probably much more diverse than most US special forces units.
It´s Cobra that has been 98% white for the longest time. |
