So I loved the Sgt. Rock comics as a kid. I have alot of them. They were good comics about a WW2 sergant and his unit battling Nazis. While the toys were a little lame I still liked them too. The long standing promise of a Sgt. Rock and Easy company movie has had my hopes up. But, to my dismay I have now found that the movie has been pushed back, and is being retooled into a tale of a futuristic soldier in a post apocalyptic world. Why? Because acording to Warner Brothers... Wait ... World War Two is too unrelatable for the movie going public. Ahh there is more... World War Two is no longer politically acceptable for a movie topic. I think Terintino just made a fortune on a WWII movie? I could be wrong. What does Warner Brothers mean WWII is too political? The Nazis lost, and thats a fact. Who are they afraid to offend? Nazi symathizers? How dare the Americans be the good guys. Oh wait we are the good guys, we were in 1941, and we are now. Warner Brothers has gone into a beautiful blend of stupid/insane/wako-politically correct. Any one else want to weep at the news of Sgt. Rocks demise not at the hands of the enemy, but at the hands of Hollywood. Please tell me I'm not alone.

Valkyrie Defiance Inglorious Bastards If Warner Brothers wants to ruin SGT Rock, then let them. There has always been a right way to convert comic books into movies, and "Iron Man" is a great example of doing it the right way. Warner Brothers will learn the same painful lesson that Paramount has learned with ROC if they proceed forward with horseshit. |

I'm wondering what the painful lessons Paramount has learned are...

Seems the more I find out about "How Hollywood does things," the more I think the commies are coming back in the form of Studio Executives. They do not care about the truth of the source material; or even where it came from (past movies,tv shows, comics, board games). All that idea to them is "product". It's all about marketing, selling, and distributing the "product". Of all movies made for motion picture and DVD, I would be stretching it saying that %30 of Producers/Directors/and Cast, actually care about the quality of the storyline. Why do actors/actresses/directors make a movie of a poor depth of script? It's the difference of being able to pay he rent and getting something to eat. There is a darker side of Hollywood where if you can't make somebody money, they don't want to know you.
Sgt. Rock is just another "Cash cow" they are gonna hunt down; Tip it over when it's sleeping, make a "fat free version" to gain liberal support, and ride that baby to he hamburger factory in the DVD overstock bin. However, the "Super Cow" I feel is coming with all the work done for The Avengers movies. If the G.I. Joe movie wasn't based in America, but world wide, I hope to god Captain America doesn't turn into Captain U.N.; Or I will most definitely open up a big ole can of whippass!!!!! |

Let them be stupid until they finally realize what makes large profits (Iron Man), what loses big time (Catwoman), and what makes them wonder if it was really worth making at all (ROC). Multiple perversions of the original storyline and characters is usually what prevents a film from becoming a runaway success. There are a few exceptions to this rule, with Transformers being one of them. However, the exceptions do not represent the majority. The politically correct proposals and perversions to the SGT Rock storyline may end up costing Warner Brothers a very successful profit. Only time will tell what happens. |

"Hollywood" won't be happy until they completely pussify everything that kicks ass! I guess everything has to appeal to 8 and 80 yr. olds equally now
