Lincoln
It's 1865 and the Civil War is finally coming to an end. President Lincoln works diligently to push through the passing of the 13th Amendment, before the Southern States are re-admitted to the Union and able to attempt to defeat it. Daniel Day-Lewis collects another Oscar trophy and Tommy Lee Jones probably should have, as well. I thought his performance in this film was better than Christoph Waltz's performance in Django Unchained, which actually won Best Supporting Actor. It's also interesting to see two of America's greatest Civil War heroes, Lincoln and General Grant, portrayed by British actors.

Shame we never got Christian Bale and Henry Cavill in BVS, then you'd've got two of America's greatest superheroes played by British actors in the same movie

Wyatt Earp
The Civil War has ended and a young Wyatt Earp witnesses the return from war of his older brothers. The film then continues on with all the most crucial moments in the legendary life of Wyatt Earp. This film came out around the same time as Tombstone, but the latter film has the better overall reputation, mostly because it deals solely with the most famous moment of Wyatt's life, the Gunfight at the OK Corral, whereas the Wyatt Earp film is a condensed telling of his entire life. Also, Kurt Russell was a better Earp than Kevin Costner. I don't mind the Wyatt Earp film too much. Tombstone is definitely better (and I'll be getting to that film, eventually), but I do like the Dodge City scenes in this film and the early parts are interesting, as well. Time constraints mean that the film rushes through the Gunfight at the OK Corral, but it's still not a terrible film. Beautiful score, by James Newton Howard, as well.

Scavengers Reign - an adult "mature animated series" about long distance space colonists getting stranded on a planet with a weird mostly hostile ecosystem. 12 episode season on HBO Max. Wife & I enjoyed it a ton. Hoping Netflix (which acquired it from MAX) does a season 2.

Instant Justice (1986) Had the VHS tape hanging around for ages, just got around to watching it. Terrible movie: it is to 80s action movies what instant coffee is to real coffee.
Rio Bravo (1959) Great, classic Wayne western. Quote:

Evil - Season One. Kind of an X-Files skeptic/believer, will they/wont they thing, but investigating supernatural events for the Catholic church instead of for the FBI. Liked it enough to finish a season, might start another.
