The Story of G.I. JOE
The toys got their name from a 1945 movie about Ernie Pyle. It's good for its time. Burgess Meredith...later voiced Golobulus. I wonder if that was intentional on Hasbro or Sunbow's part. |

Ready Player One...genius. Spielberg's most entertaining movie since Last Crusade in 1989. It's nerd porn, tailored directly to the geek culture with references to video games from Atari 2600 to today, horror movies, superheroes, anime, cult films, etc., with no watering down for the masses. Yet it somehow tells the story clearly enough that I think anyone in the audience can understand it, despite whizzing by the exposition very quickly and getting right into non-stop action and plot advancement. It also has the best-looking special effects in a movie since Avatar. And the protagonists feel like the kind of people any geek can recognize and relate to. They give the movie a genuine human quality that separates it from so many modern special-effects movies that feel more like technical exercises.

Pacific Rim 2
I liked it for what it was: Giant Robots vs. Giant Monsters. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one.

Justice League 9/10
Pretty good. First movie I rented from Amazon, I watched it twice so far in two days. The characters were all good unlike gijoe and the newer xmen movies. |
