What was the price on the shelf label?
I guess I'll for the otherside. I'm not a Best Buy employee. I used to work for Wal-mart. Wal-marts doesn't price match other Wal-marts or their website. The stores make more money on the stuff they sell from their own inventory. The store you use for your online pick-up only gets a small cut for processing the transaction. The majority of the money goes to the online unit. Plus, there are many things can result in different prices. One of which is an item underperforming online as opposed to in-store. You also have cheaper prices online; because, it gets made up in shipping. Most people still have their items sent to their homes. You also have the inconvience of waiting a week to pick up your stuff as opposed to going to a store and getting right away. You're not wrong to ask, but in most chains you'd be wrong to argue the point.

Dude, all the way you did the right thing. Hell, I'll even just flat out ask if I can have something for less of a price most times. Especially if it's on sale Store prices are a guide, there should always be room for haggling.
What's the worst they can do, say no?

Two dollars is barely enough to get me to speak to another human being in the real world, much less argue with one, but if they have site to store with free pickup then I don't see any issue with asking for the adjustment.

To the OP never feel bad about trying to get the most out of your money. You work hard for it, the sensible thing to do with it is to ensure it gets to go that extra mile. Perfectly ok what you did. Especially if it showed up for that price on the kiosk.

I just picked up "Batman:The Brave and the Bold" First Season:Vol. 1 at Best Buy for 13.99. It rang up for $14.99 but I told them on their website it was listed for $13.99 and they told me that it was the online-only price and were not going to give it to me for that price.
I could've just said ok and paid the extra dollar, but for some reason I was in the mood to argue, that and I shop a fair amount in Best Buy, considering I bought an E-Reader for my Dad, a new laptop, an XBOX 360 and random DVD's, games, etc. all in within the last year. That and the fact that this particular Best Buy has computer kiosks all over it where I looked it up right before the checkout because I couldn't find it at first and was making sure it came out today. When I found it on their in-store kiosk, it displays the online price. So I asked them if they could do an adjustment, or when I get back to work (which I walked from on my lunch break) I'll just buy it online, use free store pick-up and be back in a few minutes. They looked at me like I was nuts of course and just decided to give me the adjustment. Anyway, do you think I was wrong or was the store? I mean, I'm not saying I feel entitled because I shop there frequently, (though I did sound like that) but if they don't want that type of confusion, they probably shouldn't have places where you can look up the online price once you are in the store.

Is just a $1. Hardly worth the effort.
