I decided to make this thread for those of us, that love and miss the 1980's decade. Feel free to post and discuss anything, from 1980's toys, animation, movies, music, comic books, tv shows, dress styles, entertainment, world events, etc. Anything and everything from the 1980's is welcome.

Aimed at folks (mostly male) of our rough age who have an affinity for the pop culture landscape of the '80s and early '90s, I really enjoy this website:
https://dinosaurdracula.com/ and the corresponding podcast he does with a fellow New Jerseyan: https://dinosaurdracula.com/blog/cat...stuff-podcast/ |

I miss the old days of HBO back then where i was a little kid back then. I would get up early in the morning at 6 or 7 and watch Brain Games and little bit of Babar before my mom would take us kids to elementary school.
that and Creepshow and Raiders of the Lost Ark creeping me out at the time. Plus seeing Dune at the drive in theater and I remember a little bit that a few movie trading cards of Dune were handed out while at the drive in pay booth |

I just watched "The Greatest Night in Pop" on Netflix about the making of We Are The World and it's awesome. Big takeaways are 1) I never appreciated what a nonsense herculean effort it was to make that song happen as quickly as it did and 2) seeing all of those super-duper stars from my childhood acting like awkward starstruck teens in eachothers presence is super endearing.

Saturday morning cartoons, one of the best reasons for getting up early on a Saturday in the 1980's.
Between 6am - 1pm, we had cartoons from a wide range of properties and with all these choices available across the big 3 networks, (ABC, CBS, NBC), there was almost literally, "something for everyone". Another great thing about Saturday morning cartoons was all the awesome toy and breakfast cereal commercials...

I remember riding my bike around the city and my parents never worrying about where I was, as long as I was home by dinner. And also not wearing a helmet. lol
