I was moreso attempting to illustrate risk associated with life, in general. But even so, I can control a car accident by not driving or being driven in a car. In that way, it's absolutely comparable to covid.
I think we're also deferring almost entirely to medical professionals in terms of response, which might be problematic. As Fauci said in his own words, he is only considering health and safety as it realates to covid when he makes his recommendations. At that point, it's up to our leaders to determine what the legal balance/response is, factoring in the affect on the economy and associated collateral damage. This article is an example of collateral damage. To summarize, a projection for thousands of deaths related to HIV are predicted if current interruptions to those medical services brought on by covid 19 aren't resolved. Whether this is reliable or not, who nows, but it is published by WHO itself. https://www.who.int/news-room/detail...eaths-from-hiv I'm not going to do so here, but I think it's also fair to assess the affected demographics when we evaluate deaths. As much as I hear about "trusting the science", no one really is doing that. Science is about numbers as much as anything, but every news outlet seems to want to use any anomaly they can find to sensationalize things. There also seems to be a lot of imbalance, much of which I think is politically motivated. When things started, I was led to believe this was an unstoppable force and that we were simply buying time and trying to keep our medical resources from being overwhelmed. Now, I constantly read about all the deaths that could have been prevented if action had been taken sooner. But it seems unless we go into total lockdown until a cure or vaccine is created, people are giong to die. This is a good point too. Collateral damage is real. I also have several friends who were furloughed/laid-off who will lose their health benefits in a month or so, one of whom suffered a major heart attach last year and needs his meds. This is a very complications situation, and there are no easy answers.

I think a major point is that we as a civilization need to learn from this. The economy is in bad shape and some of that is self inflicted based on its foundation. I feel bad for all sides. People that need to stay in to protect their health, people that need to go out and work to continue their livelihood. It’s tough for everyone and there are no easy answers.
I will say this, at no point during this entire lockdown have I felt I couldn’t go to a place a find certain necessities. It might not have been the brand I wanted or I might have had to come back a different day once a new order was received but the only things I’ve missed is my personal wants and not my needs. The nation and states did a good job at ensuring people still had some access to survival. Could it have been better...sure. But I personally don’t have a need to use a lot of the amenities we’ve become accustomed to. It’s been stated before, it’s calculated risk. I’m sure most of us have in some way taken a unnecessary risk since it’s started. I know for me, it’s buying marauder figures. I don’t need them but yet I still buy them. To me it’s a small risk to help keep my sanity, haha.

I'm just over 2020. I've said this before, but lost 2 grand parents to covid. Outside of that, I've lost my other grandfather last week, natural causes. And two other uncles, due to a heart attack, and the other had cancer. And it's only May.
I honestly think it's the planet getting back at us, for doing what we do to it. I know that sounds ridiculous. Kinda at that point..where whatever happens, happens. Cant control the future. I just take things a day at a time. I avoid the news, I think the news is worse then the covid is. It's all so toxic. |

I’ve always believed the planet protects itself. Population control is part of that. A simple fact is that no ecosystem can sustain exponentially increasing life indefinitely. People have to die.

Answer to the original question posed in the topic....it's ending. And it never was what it was made out to be by the media and the scientific community.

Yeah that is why you cant believe everything you hear and therefore up too us listening too look into things and do our own research. That is 1000% true these days when a lot of the time everything is inflated and people believe everything. Hell some people you could tell them the sky was neon green and they would believe it.
