Luckily, the items I sprayed last night look more or less perfect today after letting them dry overnight. None of those parts had any new paint apps in probably over a week, so that might have helped. The last couple times prior to that were on objects that had been painted within the last couple days; those didn't turn out as well. I guess the paint needs a few days past "dry to the touch" before it's safe to spray, and I must have been past that threshold this time. The wet lacquer must have made it look like the paint was bleeding when it wasn't.
Anyways, I'm currently using Tamiya Acrylics. Short spurts (maybe 1 second or less) from a little less than a foot away.

Duuuuuuuude...
Question for you guys. The setup: I wanted to make a Desert Motor-Viper to pilot one of these Walmart VAMP knockoffs. So, I commissioned AVAC to make me a Motor-Viper head/visor in a color that would match an MTF desert camo body, so all I'd have to do is paint the face and I'd be ready to go. (He actually gave me two; a sandy tan, and a sandy brown. I've decided for the moment to use the sandy tan and save the brown one for another time.) However, even though I think the head does look good on the intended body... I actually think it might look better on this newer tan body. It looks more visually congruent with the body of the vehicle (which has little camo to speak of). I also have fewer figures using the tan body than the camo body, so that gives it a bit more appeal. I would swap out the armor boots for "regular" boots and probably give him rolled-up sleeves. Vest/webgear is undecided, but I have a good candidate ordered from Vorts. So, the question...which visual style do you think looks better--the camo, or the tan? I could go either way; even though the camo look was my first idea, I am leaning toward the tan. Although I have a few camo-body figures already that I could repurpose for this, I'd prefer to buy an all-new figure body (of whichever type I choose) since I'm also thinking of buying a couple Raginspoon kits which would require new bodies also. Oh, and I would have to adjust the fit of the neck socket a bit; this one sits a little too high and is a bit loose. I know a lot of you guys have Dremels; is there a specific type I should look into getting? How about filling the cavity to fit the neck peg? Green Stuff? I know where to get some, but have never used it. Thanks in advance. P.S. that Gimp turned out better than he had any right to, didn't he?
