I've got a relatively tiny DVD collection (it easily fits in a magazine box): The Lord of the Rings trilogy extended editions; the original Star Wars trilogy (both the original versions and special editions - I had to buy the latter to get the former); Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Life of Brian, and Monty Python's Meaning of Life; A Clockwork Orange (my favorite movie ever); seasons one and two of Battlestar Galactica (though I never have 'em - I keep 'em loaned out to friends to get 'em hooked on the show); AnimEigo's Super Dimension Fortress Macross box set; and the Marx Brothers Silver Screen Collection. Oh, and the Arise, Serpentor, Arise! DVD.
So what's everybody else got? |

I have around 3000 regular movie titles and about 200+ cartoons.
I got a little bit of everything. Been collecting for years though. |

I have around 500 now. I sold/ traded over 200 during the second half of this year. I have quite a few OOP titles and some rare stuff. Now I only buy Blue Ray so the collection is not growing like it was.

I have in excess of 2000, and that's counting boxsets as 'one'. The bulk consist of old horror films (Hammer, Euro, Argento & Bava) and classic UK television series (all the old ITC 'action shows' like THE SAINT, MAN IN A SUITCASE, ROBIN HOOD and the like)
Also a lot of sci-fi (Every STAR TREK release, classic DR WHO, Blake's 7) and old UK comedy. I'll be keeping hold of them too, as I can't see a lot of the stuff I like making it to Blu-ray. I should really get them insured....

I have around 600 - 700 (haven't counted for a while).
I trim my collection down every few months to get rid of all the stuff I'm unlikely to ever watch again - if I didn't do that I'd have a LOT more (been buying dvd's for years). I think I really have too many DVD's right now, because for me it gets to be way too much hassle finding anything to watch (in my opinion you can sometimes have too much selection, and it makes it hard to pick something to watch)... I often find myself thinking "wow I want to watch a movie" then I start looking through my collection, get overwhelmed by the shear number I have and think "this is goign to take too much freaking time" and then just end up putting on some lame TV show :-/ |
