I lost count. I think I have about 500 actual DVD's I bought and probably another 1000 that are burned copies.

My wall 'o' movies:
That pic is old, they have been sorted/reorganized since, and I've added a few titles. That is 3 Ikea bookcases attached together, around 7 feet tall. |

I have less than 100. I won't buy them unless they're $5 or less.

500 - 550. I'm looking to buy leather bound media binders that hold DVD's, sleeves and extras. Makes sense once you've hit a large number of movies and don;t live in a Blockbuster.

I've got a relatively tiny DVD collection (it easily fits in a magazine box): The Lord of the Rings trilogy extended editions; the original Star Wars trilogy (both the original versions and special editions - I had to buy the latter to get the former); Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Life of Brian, and Monty Python's Meaning of Life; A Clockwork Orange (my favorite movie ever); seasons one and two of Battlestar Galactica (though I never have 'em - I keep 'em loaned out to friends to get 'em hooked on the show); AnimEigo's Super Dimension Fortress Macross box set; and the Marx Brothers Silver Screen Collection. Oh, and the Arise, Serpentor, Arise! DVD.
So what's everybody else got? I have hundreds of DVD's and laserdiscs. The laserdiscs were my special treasure up until DVD's came along. My first Laserdiscs were bought back in '96. They were Aliens Special Edition and Abyss Special Edition. Both of these were box sets that ran around a 100 bucks a piece. Now you can get the DVd's of the extended editions for like 13 bucks at the wally world here. Movie collecting has been yet another of my OCDs along with collecting G.I.Joe.

I have several thousand. Bare in mind, although I buy a lot...I buy a lot of them used/pre-reviewed and I obtain a lot of them from the companies for review. As for LaserDiscs, I have maybe around 50. I can't take a pictures of my DVD's since they are all now in binders.
I'm now starting my Blu-ray collection which I have around 21 (as of today). This photo is as of Dec. 10th...I'll take another pic by Feb... Part of the problem I have is I am enjoying the Blu-ray dics so much, it would be costly to buy certain titles all over again. So, it has to be a major reason why I should re-buy it...for example Close Encounters has all three movies in that release, Iron Man - I'll buy since I have the regular version on DVD, Godfather is a must for me on BD and I bought "Fifth Element" mainly because when it first came out on DVD, it was a reference DVD for audio and picture quality and wanted to see if the it was the same on Blu-ray. And Transformers I bought because I hear it's a true reference disc and it was $8.99 at Target on black friday...couldn't resist.
