Ok, so i just moved into a new place with only 1 cable connection so i had to hook up wireless.
I got a Dynex DX-WEGRTR router, and a Dynex USB adapter. Now, for some reason i am randomly unable to log onto ebay. This is the only site so far i have found this problem with. When i go to the site i get "Http/1.1 Internal Server Error" To rule out a possible web site glitch i moved my computer to the other room and hooked it directly to the cable line and the error was gone, when i moved it back to the router the error was back. I found a ton a forums online with no answers to the problem. The only thing i could find was that maybe the router MTU settings were clashing with my computers, but there is no way for me to adjust the MTU on the router. This error happens on both IE and Firefox. Clearing cookies, cache, and Temp files also doesnt work. If it was any other site i wouldnt care, but ebay! common! has this happened to anyone? can anyone help? |

Do you get the error when you simply go to http://www.ebay.com or does it occur when you try to log in to your account?

You are able to surf etc..
Click on Start or the Windows Icon in vista Run Type in CMD at the cmd prompt type in "ipconfig /flushdns" No quotes. See if you can then get to ebay. |

im now thinking it might be a javascript error. When i access hotmail and try to check an email i get a javascript error. Would a javascript problem give me the ebay error? how do i fix javascript? its enabled on both my browsers. The only firewall i have is the one that came with windows and i have never had any problems with that before.

And if you plug directly into the cable modem it works normal? If so, then it's unlikely a browser/javascript issue (or else it would not work both ways).
If that's the case then my guess would be ebay does not like the way your wireless router is handling network address translation and is rejecting it. See if there are any security settings for the dynex router that you might change. |
