so i just installed a new motherboard (ASROCK P4VM890 SOCKET 478 M ATX MOTHERBOARD), processor (3.0 ghz pentium), and a pc usb adaptor (gives me 4 more usb slots). i had my old graphics card (512mb viper card), old modem (regular 56k), old memory (bios reads it so i know thats not the problem) installed. and i put back in my old hard drive (200 gb) and a sound card (SIIG SoundWave 7.1 PCI Sound Card). anyhow im getting all these errors and its reseting on its own. some errors are....
install wizard coming up saying i need to instal a raid driver (which i dont have an install disc i dont think and it cant find the program online).
explorer has to shut down cause of an unexpected error,
other ones like the above haveing to shut down, including a window popping up every so often saying windows just recovered from a fatal error.
and then out of nowhere it resets.
this is my theory. the old drivers from the old motherboard are still on there for whatever reason and are causing the harddrive to go haywire. so the solution im thinking is dump the harddrive and start from scratch.
2 problems.
1 i cant start windows in safemode so i can reset in dos prompt (f:/disk).
2. when the start up screen says press any key to boot from cd (windows cd) i press many keys but it wont register. and on this note the one time i got it to try and start in safe mode, the arrow keys wouldnt let me select up to the selection of safemode. but in bios and the actual windows area the keyboard works (its a basic usb keyboard).


so i have a backup 160gb harddrive. if i install that and reload windows on it and redo the drivers and such will that fix it? or is there something more serious going on (cause it wont let me boot from the cd right now with the current hard drive installed)
also what should the boot options be set at in the bios? i changed it around to show boot from cd rom first and am wondering if i screwed it up somehow. please any help is appriciated cause i spent a lot of money upgrading and this is really irking me.
